Then there’s the Fatboy Jr which is the same price as the Colonial 30. I think it’s a Colonial just wider and shorter. Not sure if I’d miss having a taller safe or what. Tough decision.
Liberty makes a good product. I have a Cabelas branded liberty. If you have a Cabelas nearby I’d check there too. I think they may be going to Redhead / Browning brands to carry the same as BPS. Get about twice as much safe as you think you need. They hold less than half of what they say unless you have a collection of lever actions and shotguns. I have a Cabelas signature 50 and like it a lot. Transferable lifetime warranty is a big positive for liberty safes imo.

I might play with an HK soon at the range. If it’s quality like German car engineering, I might feel inclined to buy one. Farley is the best salesman here
The VP9SK barrel is equal to a G26, the SK slide/sight radius are just a tad longer than a G26, and both hold 10+1 with the flush mag. With the 13 round mag the grip basically equals a G19, so it's not a perfect size (a little bit longer slide, barrel, and sight radius on the same grip would be), but it shoots as if it were, as in, the sight radius and slide being shorter than a G19 is not a hindrance.

All of the HK stuff is quality. The VP series isn't chiseled out of tank armour like the overbuilt USP or whatever, but they are very well made with solid fit and finish and the things just run.

I'll take the revolver for a one shot stop

" firing one shot from his .357 revolver when the bear had approached to within 7-10 feet. The bear was charging uphill at the time. He only fired one round at the bear, which fell back and stopped moving when shot. Many have suggested that he should have continued firing, but it is hard to argue with success"

"“I had my hand by my side,” he said. “I pulled the gun and went boom. Tell me how fast that is.”

The bullet struck the bear just below the snout and it collapsed immediately and almost landed on him, he said. Then he rose to his feet and put three more 240-grain (.41 mag) slugs in it."

"We have found twelve cases where .44 magnum revolvers were used to defend against bears. All were successful."

Just hope you're not out in the boonies in Indiana, and the attacker kicks the VP9 out of your hand and spikes it at a steel target then tosses it high into the air

Shoulda went Diet Coke then it would have been “clean and healthy”

I just devoured a 8oz sirloin steak fresh out of the broiler. Keto gains. Srs though eliminating the 100g of carbs from 35cal bread and wraps has been like magic for me on this diet. Finding it WAY easier to get by on a steep deficit with very little strength loss, eating less than 30g net carbs/day. Have more energy and my TDEE is rockin at 3000 cals/day compared to around 2700 normally at this BW (mostly NEAT I’m guessing since I’m not hangry and tired all the time)

20% hit rate for a 6 shot is 1 landed round. Add in heavy recoil and DA firing. This is assuming the shooting is being done under stress(which if it's 1v1 against a bear you bet it will be stressful)

20% hit rate for 33 rounds is 6 rounds on target. Low recoil and SA equates to faster follow up shots

The thread made a recommendation to me, I forgot to order it on amazon and bought a digital something in the $15 range at Lowes in Christmas eve and it worked great.

I just read this and am now confused. Only 2.5% of all homicides between 2008-2012 were justifiable. I need some pepper spray or a solid taser.

ugh, don't link that ****

You know homicides include suicides, and of course that thevastmajority of self defense gun uses do not include killing the attacker(s), right?

Ya I know, but after reading so many stories of people being fined, pistols confiscated, and jail time served over brandishing and other stupidity. I would rather carry something less-lethal or run tbh.

WA state has a decent law for CC. Guess I'm overthinking things. Do you or anyone you know have stories where cc saved them/involved in an altercation where they needed to show/use their weapon? Looking for stories online and kinda hard to find. Lots of videos on youtube, but those are usually fatal and definitely justifiable.
