Morning, MFC. Projects for the weekend include putting level kit on the truck, relocating Jeep Mirrors, and putting new weatherstrip on the Jeep Doors.

The infra red cooks so damn evenly....cast iron grill plates.
I love infrared but I prefer ceramic infrared. It's on a different infrared wavelength and gets much hotter. 1500 degrees at the grates. Cooks a perfect steakhouse steak in a few minutes. The ceramic burners are more delicate though and don't last as long. I have to buy several backups.

The cooking area isn't ever as big as you want it to be. That said, I think it's roughly the same as the 22" Webers. Speaking of Weber, I wish PK grates were recessed so there was a lip around the top (like Webers) so you wouldn't risk sliding food off when you're trying to pick it up.

To expand on my earlier comment ... So I want either a GPS watch or the GPS wrist band like the Garmin Foretrex 401. Price is somewhat a factor but not really that important between the two.

So my problem is if I buy the foretrex im never going to slap that thing on and use it day to day. So its $150 for something I may probably will never use except maybe when camping.

BUT if I get a garmin instinct I get most of the same features in a wristwatch I can wear everyday. BUT it has a lot of features I dont want and I am not interested in, AND it has terrible battery life. It has to be recharged like a phone and cant just swap batteries. Obviously a problem for my prepper brain what ifs.

So ..... ?????

FYI I already have a Suunto Core black which is sent in for repairs (lulz terrible ****ing watch reliability wise) so I guess I already have an ABC watch.

Edit: Third option buy more 300 blk ammo.

This is pretty entertaining . . . a cybersecurity firm (FireEye) just hired Hilldawg to be a guest speaker at their cybersecurity conference. The comments are pretty good.

So these PK grills. What’s the big deal? Just really good construction? Can do charcoal grilling and smoking? I’m down to get one then.

I was bugging thinking about how I was going to get the 72” tool chest to my house and just realized I can have it shipped for 96 bucks. Um, yes please.

You are correct. I just like the idea of having a grill that will last FOREVER, and is somewhat portable.

After working a Lowe's I probably wouldn't bother with buying an assembled grill again. Not that they're bad to assemble, but they're packed like chit and constantly have shipping damage. Our assembly guy always had a pallet full of damaged parts that had to be replaced by the manufacturer. It never failed the customer that wanted to assemble it themselves lived 40+ miles away and would call in irate because they were going to have to drive back to exchange a piece of it.

I can see that. I've had one that had some minor denting, but it was in an area that didn't affect assembly and it wasn't seen, so whatever.

I have a Suunto Ambit. I’ve replaced the wrist strap 3 times, as the cheap ass polymer gets cracked and brittle after about a year.

Finally bought an aftermarket strap and it’s been great. Other than the wrist strap and the lcd bleeding a little bit, it’s been a good watch.

I don’t run the GPS on it very often.
