"Lost" or "stolen"? I've never experienced either, but I've heard plenty of stories about guys going downrange without their gun and coming back to find it gone.

I built an AR9.

To get it to run soft you have to use a JP Enterprises SCS. You also have to either run a magwell adapter or a more expensive $200 lower.

The BCGs are also pricy.

It basically makes a "good" AR9 $1000-1100.

The MPX will not run wildly better, but it does have the advantage of not needing a receiver extension, so folding stocks are an option.

If you don't want to **** with the hassle of getting an AR9 together, the MPX is good out of the box.

The CMMG option is interesting too. How it delays the bolt unlocking so you don’t have to use a heavy bolt.

Tired selling a gun yesterday to someone in Santa Clara county near Frisco.

Couldn't complete the transaction.

I brought the wrong cable lock. It said Springfield and I was selling a Sig. If you don't have the original cable lock with a serial assigned to that gun OEM, you cannot ever transfer the gun there. I tossed the cable lock like I always do, so that gun is now outlawed in Santa Clara.

Also, the Starbucks I stopped at after wasn't allowed to give out straws even by request. Only sippy cup lids.

I went to the gun shop today and the guy asked me how i'd been liking my shield P&C that I bought from them. told them it has over 15,000 rounds (in actuality 500) and that it's been going strong

he gave me a weird look

anyone else ever just make **** up about their round count?

Doesn't make a difference. Also doesn't make any fukkin sense you need to have a cable lock with every gun sold in CA when nobody has ever fukkin used one.

How long ago did you buy the gun you claimed 15k rounds on?

The MPX's are nice but the price holee fuk. Who are they trying to market to? They are in the price range of a good mp5 clone and not too far off in price of an actual HK mp5 that will be imported soon.

1911's smaller than 5" are just prone to being considerably more finicky. Don't care who built it.

Shot an MPX Copperhead 9mm recently and it literally had zero recoil. Like nothing. The dot just stayed on target.

But I'm not going to pay $1,600 for one.

Being that you're in Cali, I hope for your sake they stole a SIG. At least your liability in California will be less when it's used in a crime. Instead of a lawsuit and criminal charge for murder, you'll just be responsible for the medical bills of the attempted murderer when the gun malfunctions and injures the would be shooter.

At the Scorpion's price point it seems to be a no brainer in comparison to the MPX. I'm definitely not convinced I'd be getting 2X the gun with the MPX over the Scorpion.

My dealer has 1, as well as the Canebrake with the fake suppressor thing and they both seem pretty sweet.

It's still a Sig though

I just can't justify the $ to get into .300 blackout. If I had and was willing to give the uninterrupted time to focus on reloading for it and got a short barrel rifle or a pistol and put a suppressor on it, maybe, but otherwise...why? Just shoot 5.56 or a regular pistol round instead of super/sub 300 blk

That's what I mean. Plus everything is more expensive on the MPX. I haven't bought mags for the MPX recently, but they were $60 each last time I bought them. Meanwhile I can buy the PSA AK-V mags for $15 and run them just fine in my Scorpion. If you really want the CZ ones, they're $20. The kits/stocks to SBR both of them had a 1.5x price difference too. Scorpion was I think just under $200. The SIG was $300.

Personally the only thing I like more about the MPX is the AR15 controls. But with so many people in love with the MP5, I'm sure they'd appreciate the Scorpion. I plan on buying a second Scorpion. I won't likely buy another MPX.

If companies would offer replacement bases I'd see more advantage to the whole multiple length thing.

LGS with a range so I can do prison visits has an oculus in stock so I'll probably go that way if I end up form 4. Lots of hype on the switchback rifle configuration with reversed baffles but not a whole lot of user feedback that I can find and getting the latest and greatest seems a little silly when the next best thing will probably be out before I can shoot mine outside.

Deleted ******** and lawyered up years ago so I miss out on most of the info on there, gotta scrape what little I can get from various forums.
I prefer modular cans myself. For a 22lr, it's not going to be a huge difference, although I have a Rugged Oculus that I do switch up somewhat regularly and knocking 3" off a rifle can be beneficial. Once you get into centerfire pistol and rifle cans though is where there really starts being a big difference. If you have a range that rents NFA stuff, try shooting a full length ~8" can on a handgun and then try a k-type can. Massive difference in how the gun balances and subsequently handles. Same deal with a rifle. If you are loaded and can just buy a bunch of cans, then modular stuff probably doesn't make much sense, but for those of us that will probably only have a handful, IMO it makes a lot of sense.

Currently I have:

Rugged Oculus(modular)
Rugged Obsidian 4(modular)
SilencerCo Omega 30

Pending:
2nd Rugged Oculus
Rugged Micro 30(modular)

Another big thing to consider when looking at a first suppressor at least for rifles is the muzzle device/mount. I wish I wasn't so heavily invested in SilencerCo ASR mounts at this point. Ideally you would go with one specific mount that supports multiple suppressors so you don't have to shoe horn one can to one rifle.
