Also, I picked up a new pistol earlier this week. Got a P938 with a laser, flush mag, and extended mag for 599 new which I think is a solid deal. Don't care for the laser so I am going to sell it. Any recommendations on an IWB or Pocket holster?

if you carry your vedder on the lowest ride height setting like i do, the claw wont work.

honestly, if your carrying a smaller gun, the claw won't be that much help anyway.

I've done a firearm safety course but otherwise don't know chit about guns. Want to get something for home protection (basically will 90% never use but want it to be reliable). Due to regulations I think it's easier to get a rifle than a handgun (MN). Also as I mentioned it will probably never get used aside from the occasional target practice so I'm not trying to break the bank with this. Reps for recommendations.

There's a reason so many have one (or more) and would pick one for a limited collection

Comparing to the standard, these are the advantages:

Glock:
Ease of detail stripping
Low bore axis for less muzzle rise and fasterfastshooting close
Better and cheaper holster, magazine, aftermarket, and spare parts availability
Far more sizes and cartridges available

VP
Ergonomics
Trigger
Field strip without pulling trigger


The VP just shoots more accurately, more easily, more consistently for me. With Glocks, all Glocks, all the time, I have to drift the rear sight to the right, because I shoot them left, no matter how slow I go, how perfectly I line up the sights, even if I'm hitting a 6" circle at 25 yards, sights have to be pushed to the side. This annoys me. The VP9 and VP9SK shoot dead on with the sights dead centered. Hand fits the grip like a glove. Trigger is awesome. And extremely reliable. The VP's will feed any bullet profile. They will even perfectly feed empty pieces of spent brass just as if they were dummy rounds. Feed like normal, gun clicks, tap rack back in it...try empty brass in your guns as a feed test and see what happens
