Not to mention, even AFTER you get COVID, you can get it again.
So instead of getting antibodies to defend against infection, you're choosing to either:
1. Live like a hermit or not be able to travel or do things normally
2. Try to live a 'normal' life but risk an infection with COVID that could actually cause all the issues above.
From where I sit, given the above issues come as a result of viral replication (something a vaccine like this CANNOT cause) i'll take my chances and go with what the science says for now and actually live something closer a normal life again.

Buf fair enough. We're on a bodybuildings forum and you're probably the superficial kind that needs assurance that you made the right decision about geting the vax from better looking people, so here are some other vaccine takers you may find more palatable.

You're welcome

Drug companies are some of the most evil ones out there, with a long history of mischief. Who the fuk blindly trusts them with or without ties to the government? You haven't read this whole thread, but here alone are numerous examples of them knowingly putting out tainted products, even stuff sold to INFANTS, and putting out press released lying about it's safety.
A lot of the food we eat does have problems, IMO. Less nutrients, more antibiotics, overall less healthy. Things like plastic, for example, we know can leech into the stuff it's containing and the chemicals mimics estrogen in the body, stuff like that.
FDA doesn't say things are safe, they say things are safe within specific parameters. It's okay to take 1/4 tbsp of boron or whatever the fuk. They don't say, "Boron is safe to eat" though.
We've been to the moon and anyone who peddles the notion we haven't I immediately tune out.
I only specifically question this vaccine as it was obviously rushed, a lot of money is on the table, there is insurmountable pressure to get it out quickly, all liability has been removed from the drug companies and none have been thoroughly tested. I am not anti-vaccine in general.
OTC medications and such have been tested for years usually.
We might not be giving anyone any money for the vaccines directly, but I really hope you weren't implying there was not massive profits to be had here.

"Anything in life is a risk" is a poor comparison. THIS is something we can actively do something about... we can't necessarily chose not to go to work in a car, etc.

The thresholds for what is 'enough time' for testing is set BY scientists and people formulating the substances, and that it how we determine if it is 'safe' or not and 'tested' or not.
Because I am not a scientist myself, what else can I or anyone else do? Should I never put anything into my body that I didn't create in my own lab after single-handedly learning everything there is to know about immunology or the science to create a vaccine.
ANytime you get a surgery, go to the dentist, or put a pain killer into your mouth, you're in essence 'trusting' the science.

'fast-tracking' a vaccine is NOT the same as 'rushing it'.
The same companies who produce the OTC and other medications you claim are time-tested also created the criteria for what constitutes proper testing for vaccines, etc. They are the SAME entities.
So why then are you specifically not trusting this one has benefits that outweigh the costs?
I am not saying there isn't a monetary component somewhere, but it's an indirect one, so how can anyone control for that?
I'm 36 years old (almost), and i'm very very healthy.
But you know what? Plenty of even healthier people even YOUNGER than me get terribly ill or even die from this: it isn't a sure thing that you'll just get COVID and be OK because you seem healthy in other contexts.
Not to mention, as I said, you can even be asymptomatic and have latent internal issues from COVID that you didn't foresee.
Just because I might SURVIVE covid doesn't mean it won't permanently damage my body.

I see no reason to trust these vaccines, none have long-term trials, there are no other mRNAs approved for human use and (not these) but I've seen other mRNAs have disastrous animal trials. All this is more than enough for me to put a big ? on these vaccines (I am not one of the people here demanding they are deadly, just that they are untested in their current form).
I need to weigh that ? risk against the better known risk of covid, something I think you're overestimating.
> But you know what? Plenty of even healthier people even YOUNGER than me get terribly ill or even die from this: it isn't a sure thing that you'll just get COVID and be OK because you seem healthy in other contexts.
Assuming the covid mortality numbers are correct (and there is a very good argument to be had they are inflated) but as they are here in the USA, 30-39 age group, 5002 people died (since I think December) of the 433K total. That puts mortality rate at 0.125% and people under 39 account for about 1.7% of the overall deaths.
We also know 80% of covid deaths are obese. We also know certain darker skinned races are vastly overrepresented in deaths.
So, putting aside the unknown but recently very well promoted "long haul" and just looking at mortality -- you have almost nothing to fear there. You're young, white and lean.
Plenty of people younger than you aren't dying, either.
~2,100 deaths in the 18 to 29 range.
~250 deaths in the 5 to 17 range.
~100 deaths in the 0 to 4 range.
Less than 3,000 in total younger than you and a ****hair over 5,000 in your age range. That sucks for those people, I'm sorry about them all because it's very young, but people are dying on the highways, of cancer, suicide, drug overdose, living in a Democrat-run city and all manner of thing each and every day. I feel for their families, losing loved ones is heart-wrenching, but in perspective, it's not many and not worth radically changing your life over, either.
In this thread, I talked about this. Every day I drive to work, I am at risk of death. People die on the roads every minute. I can completely remove that risk -- all I have to do is never drive in any car ever again and my odds of death from car wreck go down to zero. The question is: Is the action taken to avoid this risk worth it or not?
So, I look at my risk of covid. About the same as you, little higher. I weigh that risk (because it's not zero, I can get covid and die or suffer for weeks, maybe longer, possibly even have long-haul damage to lungs or nerves). I then look at untested vaccines, rushed to market by Trump who only cared about getting people back to work, created by inarguably Evil companies who can not be held liable with histories of knowingly peddling poisons, all wrapped in a bow of a new never-before used mRNA style vaccine where other ones like this crashed and burned in the animal testing phase.
Also, with a biased MSM and culture of fear that *will not allow* discussion of this. Harvard epidemiologists get censored on twitter if they do not have a very specific line they tow. People are censored for simply linking Harvard studies that suggest masks may not be helpful.
We are not being allowed to talk about this and that alone makes me skeptical of it all.
So, I weigh that risk of covid (very near zero) against the unknown risk of these vaccines and factor in the climate and powers that be who are using propaganda to get everyone to take it. All that combined is a Big No from me.
Covid isn't enough of a threat. These vaccines are not tested and fuk the propaganda that is desperate to shove it on me and everyone else.

That being said...
The risk of dying from COVID, as you said, .125% according to your math.
But what is the risk of death from the vaccine? There have been 580million + doses given so far.
As far as I know, the number of deaths from the vaccine aren't even in the triple digits.... so, that is many, many orders of magnitude LESS than COVID itself for any age group.
Also I am NOT saying anyone will die or always have adverse issues with a COVID infection, but the likelihood of at least have a horrible time for 2-3 weeks (I've known healthy YOUNG people who remain sick with long-term COVID for 2 months or so) is significant.
I'd be very curious to know where you saw this problematic animal test data, because as fas as I know, these companies (especially Moderna, where the 'rna' in there name literally stands for the same RNA in the mRNA vaccine) have been working on the formulation for well over a decade.

So, while the overall mortality rate for everyone whatever age was 0.125%, that's not looking at the other facts, like that 80% of covid deaths are people who are obese or that the average # of comorbidities for covid deaths is 3. As I'm sure you put together at your class reunion: Not everyone is aging as gracefully as they could be. Not everyone is watching what they eat. Not everyone has good luck when it comes to getting illnesses in life and so on.
Cliffs: that 0.125% for you is probably 0.0125%.
No insight of the horrible time for 2-3 weeks. I *hate* it when people use isolated incidents to justify something, especially with Covid which is just all over the map... but I actually had it last year, for me it was 2 days without smell and 2-3 days of nasty allergies. So, I got lucky.
I'll also say, I haven't had a flu in over two decades, but *the flu is fuking awful*, it is a miserable, painful, excruciating horrific time and even though it's probably been 22 years, I can still vividly remember how much I hated it. I think sometimes people talk about covid in terms of the flu, but the flu is horrible and I always dread flu season and am careful around people those times in the year.
I looked and can not find the animal stuff I was referencing, I think it was from a video and a doctor was talking about it and I actually did not bother to research it myself to confirm, so take a grain of salt. I did just now try for a quick check, but I couldn't find anything other than the mRNA animal tests for these covid vaccines apparently didn't slaughter thousands of poor rats or anything.

Wrapping this up, interesting.
This is former Pfizer bigwig Michael Yeadon. Makes some interesting points, one about how antibodies (which everyone, myself included) focuses on... they're not so important. T-cells are the main driving force here.
One thing he does and I don't agree with him, he speculated they're going to make further vaccines, top-offs, to administer and he can't imagine why and kind of jumps to very nefarious ends about depopulation. Why, when you could force vaccines, whether they serve a purpose or not, and *make more money*. Get paid to research them, get paid to sell them and know you have the widest market available: everyone. An endless cycle of profits, twice a year make a new one, again who cares if it works or is necessary, you just rake in the money.
Someone said we're not paying for these, because I guess most insurances cover vaccines for free, but I can assure you -- pfizer is getting paid, moderna is getting paid, JNJ, etc... not a single one of these companies are donating these vaccines out of the generosity of their hearts. You might not be directly paying for it at the time, but they are all getting paid for nonetheless.
I will say: He (back to Yeadon) directly says he doesn't think the vaccines are going to kill people down the road, he just thinks they're untested and unsafe for that reason, not to mention young people do not need them.
Really, beyond the strange hypothesis about the top-off vaccines, I found him to make a lot of sense.

I in fact had/have plenty of concerns of my own with getting the vaccine.
I pretty much made my decision based on a few factors:
1. I want to be around people sooner, and without masks especially in my friend and family group.
2. I want to have the option of group events ASAP during the summer
3. There may be things in the near future only vaccinated people are allowed to do.
The way I see it, yes, I am probably not going to have any kind of health issues if I did get COVID at least in the long term.
However, given the nature of how the vaccine is made, I have similar levels of comfort around not getting long term issues at all.
The mRNA vaccines effectively expose you to a component of the virus, but without the actual virus itself, such that there is no real infection at all >> only 'blueprints' of what the spike proteins are, such that your body manufactures similar antibodies to those it would if you have COVID naturally.
The mRNA doesn't even stay in your body very long; you end up excreting it altogether.
So, given that, and given I already feel like I'm not a high risk COVID person... it seems logical to assume I would also not have an issue with a vaccine that is, by it's very nature, only a tiny piece of the same viral blueprint... only without the actual infection itself.

Im not a big pharma fan OR a big government fan, but again I don't see how it was 'rushed' per se. It underwent a great deal of testing and was essentially prioritized to avoid existing bottlenecks... basically it didn't need to just wait in line...
And yes you can still spread it, but that's assuming you GET IT... which is far, FAR less likely when you're vaccinated
Lastly, at what point would you feel comfortable not considering yourself a guinea pig? Like how much time needs to pass (not a rhetorical question)?

As for maybe taking it, I'm waiting to see how the summer goes. I feel like a lot of unvaccinated people are going to start going out and congregating no matter what the government says. Hell, the last UFC fight was full crowd so unless they can trace a huge surge back to the fight every other fight in a non blue state will probably be full crowd. Unless this summer brings a huge surge I'm waiting until next spring at the earliest. It's unfortunate the J&J one got pulled, that's the one I'd feel more comfortable taking (though their track record gives me a bit of pause).

Send me a link to that official CDC statement... don't just type numbers here.
And also keep in mind, on a WORLDWIDE scale, about 150,000 die overall, from ALL causes.
So if you look at any 5 month period you're talking about 750,000 deaths from any cause.
If you consider that by the end of April (now), a little over 1BILLION doses have been given, do the math: does it sounds like those '3,848' cases of death from people WHO GOT the vaccine (not dying FROM THE VACCINE) could have just died from natural causes?
Think about it dude... nowhere in that statement does it say they died FROM THE VACCINE.
Obviously if 750,000 people are going to die, SOME OF THEM will have had the vaccine if over 1BILLION doses were given around the world.

I'm just curious because, after reading about the mRNA stuff, it actually SOUNDS like it would be safer... at face value anyway.
From everything I have read, between all the vaccines, the actual component which stimulate the creation of antibodies is out of your system very quickly... and they all function on the basis of just teaching your immune system to respond by making antibodies.
So, if there WAS a safety concern, I would imagine it would be in the form of a short-term reaction like allergy etc... but beyond that, once the actual mRNA/protein clears your system, you're basically unchanged other than the fact that you have antibodies now, which would be the same as any other vaccine.
I see mRNA as a novel way to stimulate an immune response, but it's still the same response, just with a different - but similarly quickly-excreted - trigger.

~8000 people die EVERY DAY in the US.... so about 1.2million in 5 months.
And you're concerned that out of that population, under 4000 of the 1.2MILLION people died (of causes not even shown to be caused by the vaccine at all)?

But if they get covid or had covid at the time of death. It's a covid death?
The average age of "covid death" is literally OLDER than the average life expectancy. That shows you what a farce this whole thing is.
People in hospice with literally weeks left to live are listed as covid deaths if they had covid at time of death.
The best part is the mental gymnastics by vaccine shills.
4-5 horrible comborbidities and over 80, get covid, then dead = covid death.
that same person gets the vaccine and dies, and it wasn't a vaccine related death due to their underlying conditions.
You can't see the how ridiculous it is with how these deaths are labeled?

Much of these issues come from viral replication and spreading throughout your body, something the vaccine does not (and can not) do.

The timing of this surge with the vaccinations is suspect. I do not think a correlation equates causation by any means, as it was implied by the OP when he posted the chart, but it is very odd. Things were well on their way downward, correlating directly to their novel treatment, too. A strange situation and I find your explanation as spurious as the implication that vaccines might have caused the spike.

You would see HUGE covid outbreaks in UK, Israel and the USA. Over 50% of adults in those nations are vaccinated and over 40% of the population.

I’m one person in a state of millions of people. If you knew anything about the geography of WA, you’d know a massive portion of the state is rural farmland. Just because a states government has certain views doesn’t mean all their residents support it
