They would have to halt trading before this meeting starts if its a merger announcement so if trading gets halted right before 2pm then they'll be announcing, otherwise its nothing to do with a merger at all.

Lucid is having a company wide conference call though, that is true just might not actually be tied to CCIV.

^^ Yea PLTR has a special margin requirement and it’s a huge pain in the ass if your account hovers around $25k. The margin used for PLTR isn’t exactly 1:1, there is some verbiage you’d have to read thats pretty confusing to figure it out.

As far as using margin, I thought margin only comes into play when you’ve exhausted your cash balance. There isn’t a way to skip your cash and use margin (not sure why you’d want that since margin isn’t free). To get margin you have to maintain a $25k minimum cash balance and then get approval from your broker.
Ah, this makes perfect sense now and why it was confusing me so much. I thought there was a specific action that had to be taken (other than brokerage approval on the account) to go into margin. I was searching everywhere for a tutorial, and there isn’t one... because you don’t need one, lmao.

Pretty fukking simple just enter the trade like normal and puts me into margin.

After the jump today though my interest has dropped a bit in margin.

I still believe fully in Palantir, but new cash is going to go towards other stocks/cash going forward, and I’d rather not fck with margin if I don’t have a good reason.

I still see PLTR $50 in a year, possibly $100 in 3. But the risk/reward is a lot different now than at $10.

Letting my winner run into perpetuity, but going to work on equity diversification and a situational cash reserve.

I wish TDA would get their cost basis calculator fixed. Every time I take profit or buy/sell a stock, it messes up my cost basis so it looks like I’m losing money despite actually being in the green
