I’m beginning to be able to make some srs money in premiums, recently made 4k off Ghiv 4700 off Pltr 1200 off CRSR etc

Had paper hands and lost 2700 or so on a baba csp though

Balls deep In spac land atm though praying I hit it big on CCiV and double my acct would be fukn insane to wheel with 300k
can you go into a bit of detail on how you made that much with GHIV & PLTR? I hold both of those. Like how many shares, option details, etc.

They were large positions

20x May 2022 $12.5 Ghiv puts at $340 each and I closed them at 4k profit

10x 1/15 Pltr 25 put for $470 each

Those took a lot of capital but with 10K you can still make good premiums

I bought AMC 6/18 6C a few days ago for .46 they’re .75 now and AMC has moved from the bottom.

So glad I found that and bought at the bottom. Hoping Stimmy funds help and theaters open soon now that Biden won the election and some states wanting to open back up.

Woww May 2022.. I was contemplating doing this the other day with BFT. I was thinking to myself, if I sell a covered call for BFT with a very far out expiration, that would give me an extremely high premium. I just wasn't sure if the strategy of selling that covered call when BFT's price was high and then waiting for it to dip so I could close the covered call at a lower cost would affect the premium as much as it would if I were to sell and close the call at a much quicker expiration.

errr I meant May 2021 but the IV was high and Ghiv is a good but boring company was also gonna offer a 40 cent yearly dividend I did this play in my Ira thinking whatever if assigned maybe I’ll hold and collect dividend but I ended up closing our $4000/6800 in like 10 days

Freed up capital and bought BFT really think after Paysafe change it will go up

Lol, this. Most people think professional traders are doing crazy tech analysis and making moves. In reality a trader just gets told what to buy and at most can have some determination on size, and you make the trade. Literally the only way to fuk up that job is to enter the wrong ticker, which happens, srs.

Firms need traders, but they're monkeys. It's a proving ground that as a young college grad you can show up, be professional, and are ambitious. Traders that distinguish themselves usually move up fairly quickly, the firm tests their acuity and ability to both work full time and study by assisting with the CFA. Those that pass Level 1 continue their career and may end up an MD if they get chartered and have made the right moves professionally (not sleeping with co-workers and causing drama... Bradley...) Ones that can't might try an MBA, but most wash out within a couple years and move into something else finance related. Retirement specialists and chit.

last week traded 3 days and made $710 trading very small... 3 green days this week and 2 red, made about $100 and left thousands on the table, i have a decent 6 figure account but i'm day trading with a tiny percentage of it.. had so many trades that i knew i should have taken and they turned out great, but of course i hesitated and didn't enter, just need to trust it and get in next week

I traded options 20 years ago in high school and made good money but just partied in college and forgot about the market for a long time

Refi'd my primary residence from a 30 year with 27 left to a 15 earlier today. The difference in monthly payment is almost negligible. Also more excited tbh about the accelerated equity appreciation than paying it off earlier (which is cool too).

Unless we have a "black swan", we're likely not going any lower on rates. If you've been lazy and putting it off, I would start thinking about it.

Took me legit 15 minutes to get everything taken care of, submitting W-2, etc.

Now we wait. Quicken/Rocket waived the need for an appraisal of my estimated value. The condos in my place have been skyrocketing like 20% YoY since Covid, kinda regretting not putting down what units are being listed at, but no big deal. Either way without the need of an appraiser to come out I'm hoping they can close it ASAP.

First monthly payment is deferred until the end of the mortgage... I think we all know where that money is going instead...

One thing I've always said besides robinhood being so **** their interface is literally 100x better than the next. Very slick and streamlined. Interactive broker has such good rates but probably the worst interface ever.

There are a few decent brokers with decent apps like fidelity and tda and sofi. But still lacks in comparison.

I use Schwab, I don’t mind theirs, but I wish the charts were more like WeBull.

Just wanted to share what things can look like when you go deep on theta gang and options in general.

https://imgur.com/a/AfojYR0

As you can see, there was a day that absolutely gaped me, and that day was probably the greenest the rest of the market had seen (excluding CCIV brahs). I saw a -$27k close that day lol.

I haven’t emphasized this enough but something important to realize about selling options is you often spend the first half of your time frame (as in time from opening to expiration) in the red. Check out OPC (options profit calculator) and see what I mean. So it’s important to realize we are looomh for theta decay to happen which Ramps up towards the last half. Thus THETA gang

Full disclaimer, I’m not completely out of the woods as I have some fairly aggressive plays still on the table but that’s another story for another day.

I frankly have no idea why people are buying options with Palantir.

The time to make an option play on Palantir was the first week options were available and to buy OTM calls. People that were listening knew PLTR was severely undervalued and MISUNDERSTOOD.

That was the informational advantage. That idiots were talking like they don’t know. Blah blah 17 years not profitable, blah blah their an IT solutions company, blah blah blah.

What advantage do we have now? That long term it has amazing potential. If the stars align this will become the most important software company in the world. I think that will happen, but I don’t know that it will.

The fact that annual earnings, and therefore lockup expiration, will be in March and not February is an informational advantage (oops did I leak that?). Market thinks it’s Feb, it’s Mar.

Other than that I don’t think anyone else in this thread has an informational advantage and any other option play isGambling.

I haven’t purchased a single PLTR option, but I’m selling the chit out of them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That said, had I bought the $27 1/15 call on Thursday INSTEAD of selling puts I could’ve made a LOT more money. But I also probably wouldn’t have risked as much with purchasing so maybe it would’ve been the same. But profit is profit
