For Labor Day breakfast I went with veggie eggs. I raided the garden and grabbed an onion, tomatoes, bell pepper, banana pepper, Anaheim pepper, and some swiss chard. Sautéed in a pan:

So, I did a little grouse hunting earlier today and got into them really well. Hunting picture in the spoiler tag, so if you don't like those skip on down to the food.

I cleaned up the birds and put them in the fridge to age a couple days. It improves the flavor and makes them more tender. I kept the hearts and livers when I cleaned them and combined it with a little meat and some veggies from the garden. I added a little salt and pepper, and it was delicious:

Smoked a turkey over the weekend:
We bought it on sale last year and it's been taking up freezer space. I needed to clear things out so we have more room for apple cider.
Whole meal:
Turkey
stuffing
mashed potatoes with gravy
watermelon
carrots and cucumbers
Other than the watermelon it might as well have been Thanksgiving.
