Bro it's the same fragrance just one version has more freshness and less sweetness while the other is the opposite. With Silver I tell people it smells like a modern take on Creed GIT. No where as green though, more about the musks and beautiful blending.

The Gold version still has the fresh notes but turn up the sweetness and vanilla. I'd say it's like the night out version but it does lean a little fem imo while the Silver is masculine.

that would be a tough call for me as I love vanilla yet would like that freshness for the warmer months.

Nice. I really dig VIW....but i would wear it so little it's hard to justify the creed price to me.

And i was wondering about the intense, if it would be more potent, but if it's just more feminine, nah im good.

By all means get a small bottle but to me the ones that smell better and are very usable are the Retro Flare Silver (MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver) and Africano (Byredo Bal d'Afrique). Those two smash Hawaii Volcano imo.

I've made it very clear to folks that I'm not a fan of Alexandra's deeper/richer cool weather clones but these are the two bottles from that company I'd highly recommend.

As I have aventus cologne, a forgettable nothing scent that just smells good, I would never ALSO own a gentle fluidity silver, byredo blanche, etc frag. However Bal D'Afrique is godly for summer, haven't smelled the clone but if the performance is good it's definitely worth a purchase.


Also, can confirm. As good a VIW(clones) are, it's about as niche a scent as 540Extrait. Where I wear 540extrait almost exclusively to dinner-dates, VIW/HV I'd reach for almost exclusively to a day at the beach with friends or a sunny summer sunday rooftop brunch.

Yeah i like the scent of VIW, it just has a very limited use for me. I wear it when it gets super warm and im going to be outside. Or when it's like it was a few days ago and was 60* after we're used to the teens for months and it feels like summer. lol

See that's the thing, the differences in both are really not that much. One is like 40/60 sweet to fresh ratio while the other is 60/40. You still get good amounts of vanilla in the Silver version and it's very versatile for the day and night.

BUT

Gold still has the fresh notes and I think can be pulled off at both times too lmao.

Gold is more beautiful but I would feel safer to recommend the silver as it has all the elements and can feel more masculine to me. I would personally reach more for Silver as I already have lots of date night scents and Silver is just something beautiful I can feel safe wearing at anytime.

Dude just the Bal D'Afrique clone is some next level chit, I Bertstared the bottle for half a minute after I first sprayed because I couldn't believe how beautiful a clone smelled. The original is definitely something I have to experience someday.

When I think of VIW, I think of a fun scent that I enjoy for me but it really doesn't quite "fit" everyday scenarios. Love it at the beach but I have so many frags that I wear other things to the beach too.

Gentle Fluidity is nice man. People may read the notes or reviews and think it's another forgettable freshie. And on paper it is, but it's one of those scents if you experience for a while how well it just WORKS, you can easily be converted. I'm getting the original for sure because the price is good but I can't knock the clone on this one. It's solid.

Yeah brah as soon as the hold on imports is lifted and deliveries straight to my home are approved again I'll give it a try. I'm not crazy about aventoose because I feel like it's too airy and citrus for my taste but you know for me 540 is life so it may fix my Aventoose problems.

Went on their website and put a 30ml of Africano in my cart. Then I thought... nah I'd rather pay the premium for a Byredo bottle as a nice desk ornament, and to have the OG juice. Then I remembered how much banner waving I was doing for "Eleventh Hour" last year. Fuking LOVED that scent but scent trail was non existent even 45 minutes after 3 sprays.

Finally caved and saw this as an opportunity for AF to provide longevity value. 30ml Africano bottle ordered, we'll se how it does.
