Moved here for university and I ****ing love it here, no idea what you're on about.

- Top-tier universities
- Exhibits all 4 seasons
- People eminate success
- Predominanty intelligent, open-minded individuals (based on my interactions)
- Numerous historic landmarks & places to visit

... among other things

Only downside is that housing (including college dorms) is quite expensive

Boston chicks truly are a few points lower on average than any other city I've been to.

Other than that the city is nice to visit every so often, but what city closes bars at 1AM?!

Technically, MIT and Harvard are in Cambridge, not Boston. However, people commonly refer to their location collectively as the "Cambridge/Boston area." For instance, when talking about the weather at MIT people will say "wow it's finally spring in Boston." The Charles River separates Boston and Cambridge, but to give you an idea: it takes me ~10 mins walking to get to Boston from my dorm at MIT.

I'm a grad student here and MIT students are a lot more normal/well-rounded than you would think. I've met some straight up geniuses here who made me look like thrash in comparison, but MIT students aren't predominantly geniuses. In expectation, a random MIT student is ridiculously hard working and (presumably) above-average intelligence.

It might not meet expectations but Boston is still in the top 4 cities of the USA srs. Boston > LA, Seattle, Portland, SF, DC, etc.

Still live here, in the 01752 crew as well, Marlborough. Boston's fine, good news you're never lost, you're just on the wrong one way street.

If you're not from here it's impossible to get around. There is no way you could ever get to Fenway from Logan Airport.

May through October it's great. People are at least direct not fake. You can wrap your arms around it in 2 days.

North End is fun.

Not true at all. Been to NYC and Boston many times, they definitely have different "flavors". NYC is much busier, grittier (dirty), and is the prototype for super dense urban area. NYC is constantly changing and there is so much industry that they have stripped some of the historical charm. Boston still has a smaller town feel to it -- the people are more down to earth, not as busy or flashy. The history, (dis)organization and architecture of Boston are exactly what make it unique. You really get a sense of the colonial days and their connection with the water, if that makes any sense. Almost reminds me of Amsterdam in some ways.

It is smaller than NYC for sure, so less to see or do. If you are a tourist you can cover it in a few days, then move on. But it is still worth a stop.

EDIT: Regarding the women. Everybody drinks here... heavily. The people look like you would expect.

Can confirm OP. I went to visit for a weekend last year and I almost didnt finish the drive there because the motorists are so ****ing dumb it defies any sense. Brb Coexist, Cape Cod, Rainbow Equality etc. bumper stickers littering prius'es taking up all lanes. Traffic was a constant.
