Its simply expectations vs reality. Normally all of us expect the law to be followed but the reality is, criminals exist.
Her getting blackout drunk around a guy is the equivalent of walking into the ghetto with a gold rolex on your wrist.

As I said in one of the other threads, even in a perfect world where you don't have to worry about what other people might do, you still have to worry about alcohol poisoning and choking in your own vomit, so drinking till the point of unconsciousness is dumb whatever way you look at it.

Why is asking about details of said night grounds for being labelled a rape apologist? The OP and that person are not exonerating that guy from doing what he did, but they are asking 'did he find her passed out, or did it build up to it'. That's not even an "AHH! Gotcha!" point, it's just a question about the case.
This case has got me ruffled like crazy, bunch of braindead sycophants jumping to conclusions about the context of people's questions as if they're a defense lawyer looking for loopholes instead of people just asking about the lead up to the attack.
When people say this, generally they're saying "Don't do this so you can be better aware of your situation and hopefully be able to prevent an occurrence from happening" vs "it's her fault". It's like telling me that it's best not to walk around a bad area at night or to walk with a weapon because I could get attacked, not that the attack would be my fault but that it's better for me to protect myself as best as I can.
Saying to a person 'don't get blackout drunk' is solid advice for any occasion. It isn't victim blaming, and isn't close to being on par with 'teach men don't rape'.

In this case however, guy is definitely guilty. Even if he didn't commit it, he more than likely would have. Passed out drunk next to a dumpster? come on son

Considering human craniums are just complex computer, drinking is like having your circuits hijacked. You are not you, you are literally inebriated and unable to critically think. Millions of people enter this state of mental handicap every day because life.
So either we outlaw drinking again or we have to stop criminalizing normal human behavior. It is normal to do stupid things when drunk because its like having a billion dollar super computer hacked by a virus that makes it unable to function properly.
In this sense its ridiculous to ruin peoples lives for something they didn't really do. It wasn't the real them they weren't even using their neurons like normal because they were mentally handicapped.
Its nobodys fault anymore than its the fault of the neuron in their brain that couldnt work because they were blocked due to poison in the brains.

But saying that teaching rapists not to rape is the answer, simply isn't true. The answer to minimize the percentage of something bad happening to you is by pre-emptively attacking the outcome. So yes, I agree with his post. As a girl if you go out and get blacked out drunk, that's pretty stupid of said girl. no one deserves to be raped, but by getting blacked out drunk, she raises those percentages of it occurring.M8 I'm not angry at all. I commented that it's weird to me how we constantly hear advice about women protecting themselves (which is important) but rarely about men being taught not to sexually assault people. And for that matter we need to teach women not to assault people. I didn't disagree with your commentat alland my apologies if it came out that way.

One wrong doesn't make another wrong right or less wrong.
Nice race bait though, it's fun how scum try to drag race into a discussion that has nothing to do with it.
I agree with your point on how people should be responsible when drinking, just you shouldn't try to load decent points with your own agenda.

Passed out girls at parties aren't free game. Even if you are drunk you should know better. I think him being drunk and no actual penetration is the only reason he got 6mo. He got off easy. Just because he didn't full out rape her, doesn't mean he didn't do anything wrong. Just because she doesn't remember anything, doesn't mean she doesn't know it. Just because this happens all of the time and nothing comes of it doesn't make it okay. Both of them were stupid that night. She got violated and he's in violation. She shouldn't have gotten that drunk, and he shouldn't be a creep.

If he's trying to convey the rapist should get a lighter sentence (which I don't think he is), then he is wrong.
