Yeah, my dad was a serial cheater. Always had a side piece, sometimes two. When mom found him in her house in her bed with another woman that was it...complete disrespect.

Don't even friend guys outside family/mutual friends of husband on social media because if you don't start none won't be none. If I'm in then I'm in and if a relationship falls apart it will be because it just isn't working, at least from my side.

I agree, but emotions do crazy things to people. I work in a level 1 trauma center, and trust me, you haven't truly seen people "tripping" yet until you do. Loved ones get hurt -> panic and anxiety kick in -> you turn into a different person. Similar, although not quite exactly the same, to seeing your spouse cheat on you. I don't always expect people to do the right thing 100% of the time, though that would be ideal.

And risk breaking the family apart? Part of me wants to tell dad as an adult, but then I keep thinking about the consequences. Feel bad for him man. Always working to make ends meet and mum did that to him. Haven't seen that dude that did it, but when I do go back to Nigeria and see him, oh man. They hate each other though. I think it's because my pops makes $100k/year in retirement pay and my mom is worth a couple millie (family money) and they're both desperate misers so neither wants to walk away from the extra $$$.

They take separate vacations, do individual chit, and generally just argue and fight all the time.

I don't know this for sure but I can remember during my junior high days catching in the corner of my eye my dad on AOL chat and he was PM'ing someone. Later that day he would say "I'm going out." Wouldn't see him back for hours. He would do this every few weekends or so. Didn't think much of it at the time. It all makes sense now. I would often see my mother degrade him in front of our faces. To an outsider my little Indian family seems perfect and happy but it is the exact opposite. Nobody talks to each other, no one is honest with each other, no one communicates with each other. Every problem is just shoved deep underneath and one day everyone will explode on each other srs.

Luckily both of my parents are faithful. Old school couple. My mom is a saint. They both just work a ton. I know my mom wouldn't cross my dad.

My Dad cheated on my Mom multiple times. He's also bipolar, so I know that had a factor in it. I don't look at him the same anymore, and we were really close when I was a kid. It tore my family apart. Thank goodness I was already in college. It still fuked with me emotionally. My Mom was absolutely crushed and I hated seeing it.

Looking back on it though, it was the best thing that could have happened to her. She wasn't happy for the longest time.

Yes both my parents cheated on each other. My dad got caught in the dumbest way possible and my mom cheated on him in revenge. They ended up staying together until my mom died.

I was maybe 12 or 13 when we first found out that my dad was cheating. I had suspected it because he would get calls on his cell phone from numbers I didnt recognize. If I answered they would hang up. He would sometimes get calls and go outside before taking them. I could sometimes hear him talking but never really was able to make out what he was talking about. One night we were in the middle of a storm that knocked our power out. It was middle of summer and hot as hell so my parents went to get a hotel room for the night. Well as we were checking in the woman at the desk casually mentioned that my Dad had been there only a few days ago. My dad tried to play it off by saying that he goes there sometimes just to get some quiet and be alone. There is no way my Dad would have needed to do this as my parents slept in different rooms and I was the only child in the house. So its not like we were all up his **** or being noisy. I wasnt stupid and knew what it meant my Mom really didnt say anything but I think she just didnt want to make a scene in front of me.

Never mentioned it again until a few years after my mom died when I asked my dad about it. He staunchly denied it and even got mad at me for suggesting it. I talked to my sister about it and she all but confirmed that it happened and my mother caught him by going through his phone records and seeing the numbers that were being called. She confirmed that my mom cheated on him with another man as revenge. I distinctly remember leaving work with my mom one day and she went to a mans house. She wouldn't let me go in with her and I had to sit out in the car for about 30 minutes before she came back. I always suspected that she went to that mans house to have sex with him that day. I never mentioned this to my dad and I never got the chance to ask my Mom about it.

I never heard either one mention it to each other or argue about it. They still slept in different beds though but that was more cause they didn't like watching the same things on television (he liked sports and she wanted to watch lifetime). But they still had sex. I know becasue it was the only time her bedroom door was ever closed. IDK it's just really weird knowing all of this. I'll never find out why my dad did it since he denies it but I really wish he'd be honest with me. I wouldn't hate him for it I just want to know why.
