Can't stand how expensive property taxes are here. I'm not sure how it's sustainable. People are leaving here in droves.

He was already acting like he ran a cult, and now he's a neo-reactionary empiricist buffoon.

EDIT: I think he changed up his target audience after being called out for hypocrisy by quite a few anarchists/voluntaryists over his handling of criticism. He abused the DMCA takedown system while espousing the normal voluntaryist stance of being against intellectual property law.

My best guess would be that 70% of my graduating 2005 high school class still lives at home if they havent left the state. My wife is from swedistan and I could always move over there but they are being cucked by goat fukers and losing all their money.

Best chance is to leave all family in CT and move somewhere else but that also requires me to leave my career and my wife losing a good paying job.

I should probably have a talk with the agent and then see whats going on with it. Everyone was making a big deal about the property tax on that house so I took it at face value. Maybe there is an error, def worth looking into.

Can confirm OP, looking for a place in Fairfield County is impossible. Great purchase prices in Bridgeport, but the taxes are outrageous, and other items like auto tax and insurance will skyrocket too.

BRB, million dollar home in Fairfield will have the same property tax as your starter home.

Wife and I graduated high school in 2001. Almost everyone has left for other states. A few still remain in town, but its a very small amount. I would seriously consider it too, but both my wife and I grew up here and dont want to move. We will eventually, but not till were a bit older.

Sucks having to spend a million dollars and 15k+/yr in property taxes to have something nice.

Really can't stand this state.

Yup. Both my parents are from CT. They retired to PA where they pay about $2K a year in property taxes for a nice house. Now CT doesn't get anything from them. Don't forget the taxes they charge for having a car too. It's outrageous

Honestly boyos, it's making more sense to rent where you actually live, if you want to buy, buy as an investment (rental) and make sure it's at-least a little bit cash positive. This will allow to you take advantage of any upswings and you can leverage equity to use for generating more cash etc...

Rent is typically a lot more than a mortgage for less space and rooms as well. A decent house around here is 3 BR, $900 a month for the mortgage, equivalent to that is a 2 bedroom apartment in an average part of town.

Since I bought my property in 2012, it's appreciated 25+% as well. I made 40k in 4 years doing nothing. I doubt your stocks did better. I guarantee they didn't.

The best part is, I gained 25% on something I didn't even own 100% of. That's like buying a stock value for 20k and getting returns on 150k.
