Working several years before medical school

I seriously think I need to mature b4 having ppl's lives in my hands

How much time you got ?

-being a social retard in my high school years. I coulda slammed a few girls with these blessed looks I have.
-Keep leaving school thinking i've find what I wanna do with my life, apparently not yet. I regret not finishing school at half the courses I've tried.
-Got myself into debt being a retard with money
-Addictive personality leading to a massive gambling problem which I've contained the majority of.

My life is full of regrets but I continue to try and improve myself everyday, We are all humans and do retarded **** in our lives, I've just done more of it.

Now now bro 2 wrongs don't make a right. I understand the anger but I'm pretty sure he was playin 2. He woulda been in prison for a while on 2 manslaughter charges and a slew of other ones lol and prob no license so he's just bullshyttin

Education srs

Goofed off in high school and didn't take one of my dreams of becoming an engineer seriously and ended up screwing myself over during senior year and got denied from every university I applied to

Nothing worse than being in a community college but at least I will be submitting my applications this fall and next year transfer to a CSU or UC for accounting and get back on track srs

Biggest regret to date

Should have taken football serious, could have become a professional player.
Should have taken gym serious from 18, a simple PPL or Full body 3x a week with a solid would have been amazing.
Taken High school and followed it by a gap of working and travelling before making a HUGE decision about my future at such a tender age.
Should have NEVER said no to any social event and should have been MUCH more social.
Take more risk with women, shoot first and ask questions later.

I totally agree with stopping nerdy hobbies to fit in. Doing the things that you have genuine interest in is where you met genuine friends.

My biggest regret is turning my back on one of my best friends for something so stupid and I hope one day I manage to make up for it.

Yeah man, i actually recently said **** it and decided to get back into competitive yu-gi-oh because i wanted to recapture my youth.

Turns out the competitive scene is mostly dudes in their 20's anyway haha

Not going through my plans of joining the military after HS. I basically had my foot in the door and backed out last minute due to being with a girl i'm not even with anymore.

Yep to much of life is miserable in the 1st place. To then quit doing something you enjoy because of dumb reasons is retarded. Many people don't even have the time or money to be able to do their hobbies. If you got The time and opportunity fuk what society thinks.

Think about the amount of people who have some inner geek/nerd in that keep it hidden lol. Probably a **** ton of ppl.

Started smoking weed at 15 by 19-20 i was high all fukking day from morning till night, quit at 22 and i believe it permanently fukked my brain up

My best friend ran into some money problems and asked me for some fin support and to let him crash at my pad for a couple months. I was living with my parents at the time and some how my parents managed to convince me to not help him (I was stupid af back then). I met him in person to tell him that I couldn't help him out and I'll never forget the sadness that I saw in his eyes. He helped me out a lot back then so its not like he just wanted for money.

This was around 3 years ago. I feel like chit about it, but I log on to ******** from time to time and see that he gotten back on his feet and has a great group of new friends. I'm happy that he gotten new friends and has a bright future.

Karma is real bros! A year after the incident, I got robbed and got my ass beat by a local gang and the only person that could have helped me decided to walk away not call the cops

srs. getting addicted to misc.

its nearly as bad as islam. so much evil and chit in here. but it makes me laugh. its basically a drug.

Biggest regret is pushing through 90% of my injuries cuz I always kept playing football or kept lifting even tho my body needed rest with zero physical activity.
now i gotta whole stack of chronic injuries and no light at the end of the tunnel.

Awesome thread; thanks OP. But so many regrets (and yes, they are all lessons)... where to begin?

1. Always trying to fit in and be like my peers/colleagues/friends. I'm an awesome ****ing person and it took me a long time to realize that I didn't have to be like others to be liked. And relatedly, always trying to be liked by everyone. **** "everyone."

2. Forgiving people too easily. This has lead to me being walked over a couple times.

4. Engaging in sexual activity because others considered it normal or fun rather than because I inherently wanted to.

5. Being a huge dick to my younger sisters when I was younger... and even now sometimes. I took out a lot of my anger on them and used to threaten them. Sometimes I look back and think that I must have been crazy for the way I treated them. I sometimes have this rage inside of me that is so hard to control and I took it out on them sometimes. This is part of why I don't think I want to have kids. Or at least I don't think I want to have kids until I know I can 100% control myself and my anger at all times. Until I think I can do that, I don't think I'll make a good mother. At least not the kind of mother I want to be.

6. Spending student loan money like a fool in my first year of uni. Paying it back was so distant, yet here I am now, having to pay back 50k when it could have easily been 10k less.


And the biggest one:
7. Not forming my own opinions and not realizing that EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED. So many of the above and other regrets could have been avoided if I had just taken the time to THINK and formulate my own opinions. I look back sometimes and feel like I must have been a vapid ditz because I almost never had my own opinion about things that really mattered. I never sat down and really thought long and hard about the things that mattered and forced myself to face the questions I had.

If anybody reads this: FACE THE QUESTIONS YOU HAVE AND TRY TO COME TO SOME SORT OF CONCLUSION!
Honestly, thinking about things and trying to figure things out for myself has been a huge turning point in my life. And when I say that everything is connected... this may seem obvious to some of you already (those of you who are older or those who have faced a lot of adversity in their lives) but every single decision you make right now will have an impact on the next decision you make. Nothing stands alone.

Spending my high school years being a computer nerd and neglecting the importance of a social life.

As a result I stunted my social development, have little interests other than those relating to computers/coding/cryptocurrencie, lonely and find it hard to bond with people emotionally even though I want to.

It goes without saying I'm a lonely virgin computer geek.

How old were u guys at the time? If he was your best friend your parents must have had some relationship with him no? How could they just turn their backs knowing he could be sleeping on the streets.

I get if you guys were in high school that there'd be nothing you can do and he would have to know it was your parents and not you turning him away.

If you were like 20+ and u still did nothing to try and help I could see him being pretty angry and unforgiving if no effort was made on your part at all.

Getting obese. Sure i got big calves now but i'd rather have small calves and have been aesthetic when I was a teen.

lifting weights when i'm still weak and still look like chit

Wish I had had the foresight to start a cool hobby early at like 13 and practice daily. I picked up the guitar at 22 and love it but it kills me to see how many people picked it up at 13 and were world class before they even hit 20.


You don't learn the same way after 20 that you do when you're a kid. The neural plasticity is so much stronger when you are young.

-Not banging that girl when I was 14 (due to OCD)
-Not doing a lot of things in HS/college, mostly due to OCD
-Spending too much time playing WoW
-Quitting tennis when I was 11 after starting when I was 4
-Quitting piano when I was 14 after starting when I was 7
-being a jerk to my younger brother
-losing sense of direction after age 18
-not joining military after college
-going to medical school
-not ending LTR before girl cheated
-still letting obsessive-compulsive tendencies dictate how I live my life

Probably many others. I've learned a lot from all the mistakes, but still I think about these things a lot.
