LMAO at you thinking having the optic on is equivalent to having a fukin round in the chamber. Point shooting is the best method for close quarters anyway.

If I wasn't a peasant I would have an ACOG instead of an Eotech and obviously ACOGs are always on yet I wouldn't even use the optic.

Basically, I need a gun and am debating between something like a $450 Glock pistol, $300ish smith and wesson pistol, orrrrr just getting an AR15.

Some guy posted this basic one for $700,http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts...iate&source=ir

Wait, is it on sale today? Wtf now it's $630!

Anyway, it looks good but I have two questions.

1) If I spend like $100/150 more, do I get something significantly better? If so, help! Newbie here.

2) This gun doesn't look like it has attachable rails at the grip.. so I can't put a big flashlight on itor does it and I'm just unaware? Shouldn't I get one with a rail?
You can get that then spend a few bucks on a new handguard. That's a great price considering the fundamental quality (ie it has basic furniture but the receivers/bolt carrier group/barrel are quality and it'll go bang every time (as long as you keep it oiled ofc)). Would this magpul one work or do you want a metal one? You can attach lights n' chit to the slots:

I've never converted a traditional gas block into a low profile one so I don't know how annoying that is, but once you do that then any metal handguard will go on the upper receiver and you'd need to buy a low profile gas block ($40-75) and a gas tube ($15) and a front sight.

He did not specify any situation, he asked what to buy comparing cheap prices. I gave a suitable answer.

Might as well use that big dildo of yours for home defense instead pussi
so I should go put my gun on safety or go grab a big dildo?

Edit: I'm drunk, overlooked the word 'stored.'

Well, he posted the question as if he has no gun, and is buying "a gun".

You and your family are attacked while in the car, or out in public, you can have a 9mm handgun holstered on your person, or you can have an M4 type rifle at home. Do you really want your only gun to be miles away?

I'd be leery of mixing an electronic lock with a big magnet.

If I could only have one gun it would be either a G26 or a G19.

If I could only have two, it would be the 9mm Glock and then an AR15 pattern rifle.

Top 2 for me, gotta be.

Lots of different choices people may make there but I would have to wonder about the logical decision making abilities of a person who,for self defense, did not pick a handgun first.

You can use a handgun for home defense, absolutely...but good luck with 24/7 self defense at the grocery store and mall and movie theater with only a rifle.
