Sloots can even take your house even if it's in your name and you paid it off before you even met her.

May as well literally cut our balls off and give it to them as well, I mean that's the next step eventually isn't it? If she can take your stuff from you then she should take your debts too

If you are a guy, getting married, get a prenup.

Dude that was my mentor basically, had his ducks in a row. Now he has no ducks. His wife walked out on him, spent their savings, racked up over $30K in credit card debt. She even told the judge that she walked out because "we are just two different people and I didn't want to be married to him anymore". In that case, the judge did give him half. Half the debt that is all. He made the money, she "handled it" and he has never figured out where the bulk of the money went. She got child support and alimony as well for a little while. He's not the same. Everything he worked for is gone. He doesnt' care anymore. Now he's living at a friend's house fighting colon cancer. I used to want to be just like him, and I still do professionally, but I don't want to wind up like him. Pisses me off bad too because he's a really good person.

I've gone through so much bullchit in my life and climbed out of so many holes myself. If I got divorced and my wife did me like that, it would be mutually assured destruction. It would be the ultimate assault on my honor, I just cannot put my life in someone else's hands like that. We have to change these fukkin laws.

You own outright the stock you paid for prior to marriage, but if that stock goes up during marriage she gets a 50 percent share in whatever amount the stock went up post marriage as that wealth was generated after the marriage.

So like I said, keeping assets apart really becomes less meaningful the longer the marriage goes unless you have a LOT of wealth (close to millions) which every miscer is CEO 10k/day anyway. College Degrees are one of the few things that you own 100 percent outright and your spouse can never have any interest in, one of the very few loopholes.

Remember ALL wealth (and debt) acquired during marriage is considered to belong to the community (community = marriage) and in case of divorce will be split equally. I live in a community property state so common law state may be a bit different but they are headed in the community property direction through case law, for the most part.

Here is a kicker. I said earlier a college degree is owned outright by the spouse that gets it. But the student loan debt belongs to the community, so split equally. So say you marry a bish, 5 years in she wants to go to school and get a degree, gets the degree (say an MD) and then leaves your ass. You can be on the hook for half her student loans on the medical degree but you get ZERO financial interest in the now large salary she commands as an MD.

Consult with an attorney prior to marriage, there are many strange bs legal things like this with marriage.

She will get half of everything, but you'll probably not have to pay spousal support.
Just get a prenup if you're worried. The people saying prenups don't hold up in court, have no idea what they're talking about. Srs.

They do. The community is split equally among them. Court doesn't care how the community wealth (marriage wealth) was built. So if one spouse stayed at home and sat on their ass and the other worked for 80 hours a week for years and built up wealth, both are considered to have contributed equally to the community wealth so the wealth is split equally among them. Yup, law is fuked.

Not according to feminists.

The woman divorces, rides the cawk carousel with college guys from Tinder who want a MILF, and enjoys having the 5 bedroom house in a nice neighborhood, kids and alimony and child support while UCLA guys run a train on her while the kids are sleeping.

Then she says she can't get a job because the divorce was too stressful.

Meanwhile the ex-husband is living in a studio in Compton and drives a clunker. He's lucky to see his kids every other weekend.

Wtf people should sit down with lawyers BEFORE they get married not after. Why not just sign some cohabitation contract where both parties are involved with lawyers? **** the government and courts

In common law marriage you can become legally married if you live together long enough. Those states have a list of factors, typically, that if satisfied make you legally married. As for why they don't sit down with lawyers? Because that isn't romantic. And guess which one, the man or the women, gets offended over the thought of sitting down with lawyers? (Hint: It's the one that bleeds on a regular basis)

Guy I knew got married, they had kids, bought a brand new house, had a good job, everything was going great for them. Then she got fake boobs, then started to go to bars, ultimately cheating on him in their new home with a broker. They ended up getting divorced, he lost the kids, house, and his Job because of depression. Meanwhile the girl was still fcking guys in his house as he was still moving out. He ended up being suicidal, moved to his parents basement then got a job at a chit factory.

Wouldn't it be fairer to have the ex wife get an income check from you for the equivalent time of the marriage? Taking into account if she worked or not it the amount to pay would be less.

Maybe marriages would last more if the women get nothing.
