what was your BAC?

I hoped you learned your lesson, and really take in how lucky you were that no one was hurt. Being that you were pulled over, and not a victim of a sobriety checkpoint, your driving ability was most likely affected enough where something much worse could have happened. Be thankful you got pulled over. You can't really be mad at your friends, as they were probably just as intoxicated as yourself. If you know you are going to be drinking at a location, do not drive yourself there. Make the decision while you are sober.

I think it's funny (not "haha" funny) how people will rip you apart for drinking and driving when texting/distracted driving are arguably more dangerous and common. I'd guess most of the people ITT have done so but wouldn't admit it, or would (wrongly) argue it's not as dangerous. Texting and driving is equivalent to drinking 4 beers, according to NHTSA. Just sayin.

Same people talking like this guy was juggling live grenades in a school bus full of kids are probably the same people that text and drive everyday.

Take some accountability for your actions, its not your friends responsibility to insure you don't drive drunk.

You deserve what you got, you should seriously be thankful that nothing worse came from your actions, being caught is one of the best outcomes of driving drunk.

Endangering the lives of others was stupid and thinking about what would have happened if I took the life of someone is painful. I needed this to happen because if not my drinking problem could have escalated to something much worse. I accept everything that comes of this and I am beyond disappointed in my self. This is going to propel me into changing my life in a major way.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think it's that easy with a DUI.

I know people who took a weekend in jail in exchange for no DUI on their record. I'd be willing to do this. Jail gave us **** sammiches and milk. Other dudes in the holding cell were also ****ed. One dude got a DUI and is in the Army. Saw some hot chicks in jail uniforms.

Look at the bright side, at least you weren't this guy OP

10 Hours AgoThe Associated Press
Brent Lewin | Bloomberg | Getty Images

Police said the pilot boarded the Boeing 737 with 99 passengers and six crew members in Calgary, Alberta for a flight that was scheduled to make stops in Regina, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg, Manitoba before continuing on to Cancun, Mexico.

Stacey said police allege the suspect had three times the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

"Because he has as much alcohol in his system as he does, they're going to wait for him to sober up somewhat before he goes before a justice of the peace," Stacey said.

Police said the pilot's name will be released after he has appeared in court.

Sunwing spokeswoman Janine Massey praised the rest of the crew for handling what she called a "very unfortunate matter."

"We can confirm that shortly before 7 a.m. local time, the gate agents, first officer and crew of Sunwing flight 595, departing from Calgary and destined for Cancun, determined that the captain was unfit to fly and reported this accordingly," Massey stated.

Sunwing, a low cost Canadian carrier, said the plane took off a short time later with another captain.

"We are very apologetic for any upset that this has caused and would like to assure our customers that safety remains our utmost priority," Massey said.

Stacey said Transport Canada has been contacted and he expected the suspect could face additional charges.

"It had all the potential for a disaster but I'll tell you this much the likelihood of a pilot on a major airline like this actually being able to take off when they're impaired like that is pretty slim, because there's a lot of checks and balances. There's the other

flight crew and there's gate crew and they're all about safety," Stacey said.

"So, I'm not surprised that he got caught before (the plane) left the terminal."

Transport Canada spokesman Dan Dugas said in an email that it is a criminal offence in Canada for a flight crew to work within eight hours of consuming alcohol or while under the influence.

Dugas said Transport Canada is reviewing the pilot's records and Sunwing Airlines' procedures and protocols.

Good. No matter how drunk I've gotten, I've always had the common sense not to drive still.

Do you ever ask yoiyoiurself why you do it?

I use to do it just on the weekend. Hit the bar with friends and get Guinness's and wings to watch a game. Anymore I do it any day of the week out of sheer boredom . idol time is a killer if not used productively.

Just be glad you didn't kill someone or yourself
