I did the same thing OP, went in to sell insurance because my friend did so well doing it. Get in there, middle of the first day I realize he's been doing so well because his Dad is the head and he gets A lists while they give the chit cold lists to the newbies. And then they tell us we will have to pay for the license ahead of time. No thanks jeff, had a nice lunch and got the fuk out of there.

terry what do you have against being a plumber? of all the trades to choose from, this one will give you the most opportunity right now in Alberta. No shortage of work for residential service plumbers. Your dad starting his own plumbing company is basically a free invitation to learn the trade. Electricians have a lot less work right now and rely more heavily on construction and oil-based projects for employment. Lots of electricians out of work right now.

Plumbing isn't all dealing with ****t, and at the end of the day, being a tradesmen is lolz anyway so why not pick the right one?
