Games today aint the same as it was 1999.
Chit cost hundreds of millions to develop and its catered to people of all ages.
I don't see why you would want to quit gaming, if anything, its a great time passer.

In my opinion, they're equal in a way, but lately video games have been getting dumbed down and not the creative masterpieces they used to be. Even then video games were the scapegoat for everything wrong with children back then, hahaha. People who single out video games are usually people who have never touched a controller in their lives and are stuck up, ignorant, and miserable.

Used to play games a lot (6+ hours a day) when I was 10-18 or so. Looking back it was a way of escaping reality because I wasn't happy with life, when I got more interesting hobbies and a job I just eventually stopped playing games, I didn't have to make a conscious decision it just happened.

Use to be heavily addicted, then went to Path of Exile past few years content got boring doing same chit over and over. Now I play Hearthstone maybe 30 mins a day every 2-3 days if that. There's nothing to keep me interested anymore like the days in early WoW where I'd be on the comp 7-10 hours daily. Gaming has slowly died for me, lost interest.

Quit console gaming years ago, but I've transitioned into wasting my time playing online poker and apps on my smartphone to waste time. So not really sure I can say I "quit gaming" but I definitely spend less time now than I did playing games on console that took weeks to complete to finish.

I used to play tons of video games, and what i really found is that it, and many things like it, are an addiction/habit to cure the boredom you have in your life. And at the core of that, is general dissatisfaction with your own life and often times a lack of awareness about what life has to offer... how great your life could be.
It's a lot easier to keep the status quo (the games and addiction) than to set some goals, branch out, put yourself in uncomfortable growth situations, and really start living. Stop working from the outside-in (instant gratification sources) and start working from the inside-out. Stop putting your life on hold and what you really want for the feel good in the moment (that's fleeting and does create long-term happiness and joy).
I don't think you'll notice a drastic improvement from stopping. It's how you utilize that time after that will change everything. Don't let it turn to misc'ing all day.

Nope. I love video games to ever quit permanently.
I don't play as much. Still playing Pokemon Go because I've only played it for a month or so.

I see there's still a lot of stigma regarding video games when it's actually one of the biggest industries in the world. It's moved beyond being a nerd hobby to mainstream entertainment. Be it, PC/console games or flappy bird or ******** casino games, everyone including your grandma plays video games in one form or another.

Also... people often make the mistake of thinking that somehow a relationship or a special person is going to enter their lives and all will be perfect. That's a very media/hollywood view of the world. That's just not how it works. But society as a whole is so brainwashed on that idea that we just fall into a circular loop of BS because of it without ever once taking a step back and thinking that the foundation is cracked.

lol at people who haven't learned the concept of time management. it's all about the balance.
you can't develop and work on life-enhancing, health-benefitting hobbies while still making time to play games, watch tv, etc? must suck.
could only understand if you're working like 60+ hour weeks or some high-demanding career like that, which i doubt many miscers are anyways.

Never really a gamer but played League of Legends a lot the past year but realized its a waste of time because im not enjoying playing with these 12 year old brain dead kids that insult me like they are the biggest pros out there. I swear the LoL community is full of little brats that need a azz whooping.
