Start a gofundme and make an indie movies serious. You probably look like a ****gy movie emo kid anyway, 100% guaranteed you'll get to at least 20-30k.

can you edit film?
i just went to indeed.com , typed in "film" and got everything from popcorn stand operator at AMC to local news station film editor.
surely you can do the same? i bet one of those is better than what you have now, which is zero.

Isn't 31 too late to join the Air Force/Navy?
I, I mean my friend, has a film degree. After graduation realized what a disaster that was and reapplied to a better school and was accepted to a business degree program but decided to roll the dice, I'm sure he'd do anything to go back and reevaluate that deciison
Would love to know which 2 year degrees make 70k possible (srs)
Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far

Also tell your friend to look into Construction Management. Srs. You can start off with a 2 year degree. You don't get paid as much as nursing, but you can move up to a bachelor's. $100k+ salary with years of experience

There are endless options.. 31 is quite young and if you don't have any real responsibilities like a mortgage your options are endless
-trades (you could open your own business down the line)
- community college courses such as ADN
- possibly go back for masters???

If you are motivated, confident and can talk to people or at least you can fake it till you make it this is a cake job. Tons of potential in the industry if you want to move up or just become a badass salesman selling 2+ cars a day. My sales manager is 27 years old makes $220k/yr

32 and very behind the curve as well career wise. Recently got out of the Navy and obtained my Masters in Accounting. Now you may think that sounds pretty good and all but...been applying like a mofo for a while and havent been having much luck. Whenever I do eventually get a job, odds are good that it will probably be a low paying one.
Them feels of being way behind/having made a bunch of poor decisions in regards to career.

Ability to work hard and be determined can't be taught. If you want to make it then you will I'd say. By studying, researching, getting the qualifications and so on. And when you're not doing that you'll try to think of ways to make money, be making money and/or saving money (within reason, need a healthy diet with good quality food, good sleep and hygiene)

I got home from an involuntary vacation at 31 and had lost everything, all my savings, my job and my only marketable skills and degree were now useless. I needed a whole other field to work in. It took me 7 months to find a minimum wage job which I rotted away at until I was almost 34 years old. I applied to hundreds of jobs over those 3 years, got tons of interviews and on the spot offers. Then came background check and all offers were rescinded. Then i got an email about an interview for a sales position, something I never considered because I was not great talking to strangers. I went on the interview and was offered a job. Accepted it (what else did i have to lose) and i worke din that position for 18 months until i was promoted to a sales manager. In 2014 I made 22 grand in 2016 I made 47 grand and this year I will do closer to 60.
moral of story: look outside comfort zone for a position you may never have considered and everything may turn around if you work hard.

Yes they can earn upwards of 150k, but most wards are understaffed and there is a lot of **** (literally) they deal with. The average nurse to chronically sick and usually elderly patient around here is 6:1. Which is actually quite frightening.
Sister would always be working short staffed because the turnover rate for nurses in med/surg units is HIGH, sick calls are HIGH. There are endless stats about burnout in the nursing profession and that most nurses leave hospital nursing within 5 years of graduation. Very few nurses stay on one unit for longer than 2-3 years.

You're the same as me but 3 years younger if that makes you feel better
At least I had a pretty great life in my 20s, lived all over the world and smashed all kinds of girls, so I'm at peace with whatever happens now

Today is your lucky day OP. I want you to start making youtube vlog video's everyday. Also post instagram photo's 3 times a day providing value. It can be as simple as positive affirmation , or funny memes. I've studied youtube and have seen a guys getting 1000+ views eating pizza everyday. He stays consistent and tries different pizza's everyday and now I checked back on him and he is up to 1000+ views per video. Find something you like to do and film yourself doing it everyday, people will come. The key is consistency, post everyday and talk to each follower and comment. I've tested this myself with dance video's, I posted a dance video every few days , tutorials and just freestyles for 4 years. Videos started with hardly any views or comments and I kept posting and joined a dance community and shared my video's, views went up comments went up. People asking for tips, etc.
Provide value or entertainment and engage your followers and embrace them as friends. Be consistent, start now don't give me no excuse you got a smart phone start filming now I don't give a fck if you film yourself eating a box of candy everyday or farting and laughing. Just do it no excuse bro. If you like watching tv and movies film yourself watching a tv show and show your reactions. JUST DO IT, don't reply how hard it is, or that your ugly... no excuse there is deformed people on youtube making video's you don't need to be 10/10 brad pitt to make money just do it, your gonna reply with I'm going to start now that's it. otherwise you ain't gonna make it.
