Loved how creepy the original movie was besides some weird quirks to the story. Then I tried reading the book and I was bored out of my mind. I've tried reading about a dozen King books and I always get bored. The only one I could finish was Salem's Lot and thats one of my favorite books. Couldn't finish Pet Cemetery either. Even The Stand which is another movie/series I like a lot.

I honestly think King is a great story creator but a below average writer.

Agreed with this for a number of his works. Great stories, but the writing is missing something. However, I also wonder if his writing style is deliberately "dumbed down" for the masses. Eventually moved on to Dean Koontz and some other authors after I had my fill.

Kind of want to skip this after they fired the director from True Detective because he was gonna bring some edge to it.

Instead probably gonna be a cookie cutter horror film thats makes bank and will be forgotten.

Hey, give the guy a break. He was reportedly on a lot of drugs back then. Who knows what sort of twisted stuff comes to mind during those times.

I thought they were 11 (not that a year really matters)?

And wasn't there a demon rape scene in that one too or am I thinking of another book?
EDIT: Yep, a different book.

forget how old they are but It appears every 28 years and if they were 40 when it comes back then that would make them 12. honestly dont remember.

Maybe right before they turned 12 or something. I'm sure I don't remember chunks of it since it's been ages since I read it; oddly enough when I was 11/12. 40's right around the corner, so perhaps I should pick it up to refresh my memory. Might be interesting to see how perspective changes on those themes after a few decades.

One of the few movies to give me the adrenaline fear. I loved horror films as a kid I wanted to be scared for the adrenaline lol I used to rent all the horror movies, pinhead, phantasm, puppet master, children of the corn, etc. IT scared me for real but it was because I was a amateur in the game at that time. The Ring also scared me as well sometimes would be very afraid to even take the covers off my head when my screen had the static.
I just want to share the knowledge I have obtained throughout my life and hopefully change someone's life.

I haven't read the book but read some online material on what "IT" actually is. So it transforms into the fears of people around it? What is its real form though. I read it was a giant spider wtf..
