First year of uni

- Brb away from home, in an environment full of people my age, where the culture revolves around holiday antics

- Brb living in the most ridiculous student flat (16 people)

- Brb always hosting flat parties, pre-drinks etc

- Brb freedom to do whatever/whenever as long as I could afford it

- Brb FIFA tournaments with the boys (real money involved)

- Brb automatically forming new friendships

The best bit...

Only needed 40% to advance onto 2nd year, and first year doesn't count towards your overall grade

Summer of 69

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it 'til my fingers bled
Was the summer of sixty-nine
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit, Jody got married
I should've known we'd never get far
Oh, when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

Tie between:

summer 2003 when I was 16. Was the first in my group of friends to get a gf and have sex, was experimenting with drugs and alcohol but not over the top just having fun, and every Friday/Saturday there was either a legit party somewhere or I would go to the movies with friends then get blitzed and go a PC Cafe and we'd pwn nubs at counter strike

Any point in 2011: 24 years old making great money and had a solid group of friends to get yucky with. Hooked up or at the very least made out with sloots practically every weekend when I was single. Also got good at pool and my favorite bar always had 4+ expert players hanging out so any given night I could walk down and have an amazing time competing/gambling and laughing with good people.

Probably age 10/11 srs.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

Childhood was a blast for obvious reasons - no bills or responsibilities, sports were fun and just being a kid in general.

Other than that I would say College.

-Played football at an SEC school for one the best coaches in history
-Had teammates from different backgrounds that taught me a lot & made me more appreciative
-Had a 10/10 gf who was the definition of wife material
-Fraternity and social life was nonstop fun

College taught me a lot both inside and outside the classroom. Biggest lesson I learned the hard way was messing up and losing that GF. She's definitely the one that got away.

lol I thought this too... but then realised that most places worth working at will ask for full transcripts of your time at uni, not just your final grade :S

As for the best time of my life, probably ages 17-24 or so. Lots of parties, started lifting, holidays with the boys etc. Before reality struck.

Pretty much 2002 - 2005 school summer holidays. In the daytime we would play footy / basketball or just phuck about doing whatever. Get hungry, go to Lidl and buy a phuck load of junk food, sweets and drinks. In the evening like 30-50 of us would play manhunt in the park for hours and hours. Not a care in the world boyos, makes me kinda sad thinking about it (no saddo)

Freshman year of college, living in a dorm

It was the first time I was out on my own and also the first time I really had lots of friends, lots of girls around me, and a busy social life. I also had a major I enjoyed and didn't have a job, plus the campus was located in a really nice part of the city, so it was essentially day after day of hanging out with close friends who lived right across the hall and going out to eat or do fun stuff everyday.

There was a life I always wished I had growing up and going through high school... And this life I had in college was even better than that. Any single given day from my college life would have been "best day of my life" material for my past self.

I always look back on those days fondly. What sucks is that there's no going back. Mainly because even if I could, in theory, live an objectively better life now if I lucked out or did certain things right... It still wouldn't be the same because it wouldn't have the novelty. My freshman year of college was my first time experiencing a lot of things and witnessing them with a fresh pair of eyes and youthful naivete and optimism and there's no getting that back.

End of junior year highschool all the way to well into freshman year college.

Got out of my shell (thanks accutane)
Started talking to girls, trying new things
Got an HBB gf. Life was literally the 16 and in love copy pasta. Was GOAT. Meeting new friends in college that first semester was great.

Had a slump for a few years but I think I'm living in GOAT times now. New city, new women, new friends, new experiences. Amazing.

Great thread....

I'd say first summer out of highschool...Had just fallen in love before graduating with the most HBB ever and the feeling seemed 100 percent mutual...fukking like rabbits, camping, concerts, always dodging her overprotective Dad, keys to the cars and probably the best weather I've ever seen in my hometown.

Friends from school were still tight, life was an oyster to behold.

Never really had epic good times like most of you guys, feelsbadman.
For me, probably at 22/23 when I had my first and only gf. The feels of having someone always there and just having your back. And not worried about trying to go out looking for a woman because you already had a good one. We did a lot of fun stuff together and she was just so consistent and good to me. Fell apart after 1.5 years.
She's married now....and I've been single since. feelsbadman

To be honest this is a really weird question for me all of my best moments have been prefaced with intense amounts of struggle just beforehand. These are 3 of my best moments.

In early middle school my mom placed my 2 brothers and I in hockey. She has always been very concerned with our image and place a lot of demand on us. My brothers were both very good wings and my older brother played in a league 2 years above his age group. They both started and got a good bit of attention and respect. I was kind of tossed around for the first half of our season and one game our keep didn't show up and my coach put me there. We ended up winning and shutting out the other team but my mom was upset because our offense scored a lot of games and so like normal most attention was place there. My mom more or less yelled at me for playing goalie and for me telling my coach I wanted to play it more often. I stuck with it though and my coach was adamant about keeping me there to see how I performed. We ended up winning that season's tournament and I was goalie of the season and got a small trophy for this. That was the first year that award was even put out so everyone was surprised and I got a huge ovation from our league. My mom's tone changed after that and my brothers and I got a lot better in the following seasons because they constantly practiced their shots on me. I'd never felt so proud and happy for sticking with my decision.

In late middle school I tried wrestling for the first time ever because I was depressed and pretty much just followed around my best friend. I was extremely disliked in my middle school and sports were our districts only source of pride. They were taken extremely seriously. I got chastised pretty heavily from everyone and no one supported my decision to join the team. My teachers' started punishing me more severely, my peers would bully me(even more than usual), my team refused to talk to me and my family told me to quit because they didn't want to be embarrassed or deal with all my punishments. My best friend told me that I should quit and I was normally not allowed to practice with the team and was forced to condition in the stairs next to our boiler room as our coaches swapped in and out watching me. My record halfway through the season was 1-7.... I kind of hit a breaking point one night when everyone around me lost faith in me and I realized that pretty much everyone thought I was a loser and I kind of was. I decided to make it mission to see the prospect through and win at our conference finals. I needed to prove to myself that everyone else was wrong about me. I started running an extra hour after practice and waking up to watch online videos of wrestling at night(family had 1 computer). When we went to conference I got placed in the hardest division(1+) which made no sense. I was 1-1 in a four way round robin and my last match was going to make me 4th if I lost. My opponent was far strong than me and had been wrestling for 6 years. This guy was kicking the **** out of me. I was so out of his league people were laughing at me in the stands. I was down 12 points going into the last round. I could do nothing for the first half of the match and started panicking at the 20 second mark and praying to God. I don't even believe in God. Out of nowhere I did a roll on him that haphazardly managed to work that I'd only seen once online. All of the sudden I was pinning him with almost no time left. His neck was overpowering my arms and I was pulling so hard I couldn't feel anything above my arms. I heard the ref slap the mat ending the match and held my head in shame unable to hold back tears. I had given my all to something and failed in dead last. I walked to the center of the mat to shake hands and went to walk away when I felt the ref raise my arm as the victor. I was confused as **** and instantly looked at the scoreboard. 3 Seconds remained. The ref then handed my the first place medal. I half sprinted to the bathroom and hid myself in a stall for 10 minutes. It was the only time I ever cried tears of joy.

Last one is 2 years ago, and to preface this is in the military. I was working at my current workplace and had an extremely abusive boss. This man would constantly try to get me in trouble and make me look dumb and unfairly passed over me for multiple jobs, promotions and other types of recognition. One day I had some out of work issues and a conflict with a worker in the division and went to ask some chiefs to mediate for us because this man was supposed to be on leave. Well, he ended up catching wind and the mediation turned into him asking us questions until he gave us answers he liked, then telling the other guy how he could **** me over and then him bitching me out and insulting me on a personal level for near an hour on things like how I am a waste of the Navy's resources, how I am a ****ty person, how if my sister lives with me she'd be worse of for it, how all the division hates me, how he wishes I would die in a fire, how he's glad my reenlistment paper work ****ed up and I backed out and how I don't deserve my girlfriend or friends and I am a piece of **** for trying to hide issues going on in our division from him as well as trying to slander a valuable asset in our division. I had only slept 2 hours the night prior and ate only one meal because we were swamped with work. He ended up issuing me punishments for trying to get mediation. I left and came back an hour later asking if I could have a chance to explain why I felt these "character building exercises" seemed unnecessary in my eyes. He said "No, get the **** out of my office I've made up my mind.". I persisted and asked once more politely at which point he got in my face yelled and poked me in the chest. I lost it and a giant cussing match ensued in front of all of my divisional leaders and told him I was going to write my senator and report him to Equal Opportunity and make sure every person he ever abused chimed in. Eventually, I stormed the **** out trashing multiple things on the way out and slamming the door so loud people from 2-3 offices out heard it through our steel walls. Later, that week an asston of my division talked to the other divisional leaders saying that if anything happened to me they were all going to go to Equal Opportunity as well. This was almost 20 people which was 1/4 - 1/5 our division. Two months later, I got a promotion, an EP and promised the Qual Card I am currently working on that is reserved for about 1 in 7 electricians and requires a designation from a captain. This qual could easily land me a 6 figure job. I could've gone to mast but it was a huge turning point in my life making me start sticking up for myself.

TLDR:

-OP sticks to his guns after being chastised and gets lots of recognition playing Goalie in Hockey
-OP is chastised and feels like a loser after people around him lose faith in him and treat him like one... ends up sticking with it and wins 1st place in conference
-OP cries tears of joy
-OP has boss treat him like **** and has a history of not sticking up for himself
-OP sticks up for himself and risks mast but others come to his aid and he starts being treated significantly better
-OP realizes his happiest moments come from overcoming strife and succeeding

Is op weird??

Right now. Closer to getting a degree. My part time job is enjoyable. Not worrying about too much responsibilities. Smoking good woods. Plus I'm only 19!

you'll never be 15 and in love
lying on the grass on a warm summer night, watching the stars, carelessly chatting
not worrying about rent, bills, student loans
only worry in life is how you're gonna cheat on that history test on monday
you'll never take a young, tight, hot-bodied girls virginity, pulling out to cum all over her back and have her look in your eyes and say "I love you"
you'll never have a girl around every day after school, pretend to be doing homework together, but instead just **** like rabbits

you're in your 20's now
gotta get a good job
gotta be a serious man now
all the good ones are taken
maybe a nice girl will eventually settle with you
they have already felt all those new exciting feelings before, and are usually jaded and bitter
you missed what it feels like to have not a care in the world other than making your girl happy
you have missed out on teenage love
I don't really care about the second part but it does suck not having experienced the first part. Especially when I was so close.....

should have kissed her when i had the chance
