Teens probably didn't know how to swim themselves and even if one of them did that adult male who is drunk would have drowned the teen along with himself. Also it's Florida...I wouldn't jump in that water could've been a gator in there.

That's what I said, how do you get that far out, and can't swim.

soo twoTEENAGEkids watch, laugh and record a person drowning and all you can focus on is how the victim looks? They watched someone drown and didn't even blink, no 911 call reported. Teenagers...

They're definitely idiots for filming the sh** and not calling 911 at least, but let's be real.....they would've taken an L too if they went out there to help him. He was in panic mode. First time they tried to grab him, he would've been clawing at them to stay afloat, pushing them down and taking all their energy. Would've been two lives instead of one.

How they went about this was all wrong, but there was nothing they could've done without a boat or being a lifeguard.

I think a lot of the "holier than thou" armchair lifeguard miscers ITT are forgetting that jumping into some random pond in Florida is dangerous af. There are alligators and crocs all over the ponds there. You're telling me you'd have jumped into potentially gator infested waters to save some random punk who apparently swam out there on his own like a dumbasss before panicking?

Sure you could call 911, and that would be the right thing to do, but let's be honest, there's no way they would have made it in time. There's also a pretty slim chance some random teens were strong enough swimmers with lifeguard training to have been able to save a panicking adult in the middle of a pond. One of them swimming out there probably would have gone really badly even if they could handle swimming themselves, he'd probably pull them under with him.

So yeah, it was sick that they filmed it while laughing. But lol at the miscers claiming they'd have Superman saved that guy.

By the way,, these are the same kinds of scum who would kill you and rape your mother or GF or wife. Then laugh about it on social media. Then get sympathy from some liberal maniac judge. Just saying.

This is why I'm always well armed. Scum are everywhere and it's like there are even more of them here in Florida.
I can't wait to move.

Detectives noted that one of the teens stared ahead during the questioning, even though his mother sat next to him in tears, distraught at the situation he was involved in, Martinez said.
Hmmm.......
Police said Dunn turned up at the pond after an argument with his fiancée about 10 to 15 minutes before the incident.
Damn, so the guy was about to get married. That sucks....
“The kids were at the park that day smoking marijuana and apparently saw him walk into the water. He walked in on his own. They were watching him,” Martinez said. Dunn waded into the water from the west side as the teens watched from the south side of the pond.

“They just started recording what happened and watched until he died,” Martinez said.
I'm wondering if he decided to just go for a swim to blow off steam and ran out of stamina? Idk... Or maybe he wanted to end it all, but that doesn't explain why he'd scream for help... unless he had a change of heart at the end. I don't know chit is too confusing.

I would like to jump in and become gator food. My whole life has been leading up to that moment. Nice tasty gator meal. Want him to be happy and well fed.

Seriously what the fukc do you expect them to do? Can't go in and save him because risky as fukc, too late for 911, and potential water threats. Shouldn't be laughing but people acting like they could have done something to save him. Dude met his fate when he jumped in and didn't know how to swim.

fked up all around but one has to question what he was doing in the middle of a pond that could possibly have gators. you would have to be all kinds of high and drunk for that to happen.

You approach the person drowning at arms length. Try to calm them down. Then grab an arm/hand and start swimming. You grab the opposite hand and trying flipping them over on their back as you pull away. Hopefully by then they are calm knowing that you are saving them. You can keep swimming (side stroke) while holding his/her arm and the momentum will keep them afloat. Or you could grab them around the chest with one arm and swim. Or you could approach them from behind and grab their chest and start swimming.

There are ways to get out of a situation where they grab you. You go under and push their arms off of you. There is a technique. But as the years went by the American Red Cross stopped teaching rescue attempts without some sort of flotation device for yourself. They recommend that you have a rescue device that you extend to them. Of course in the real world, that is not always an option.

You definitely need to be experienced at this sort of thing. We had to practice numerous times before we were 'checked off' as being competent.

Hit me right in the feels when he shouted out one last time for help.

I think certain types of people from certain areas in particular have a disconnect with the value of human life, even one dude on the video acting all "You afraid to see a dead body".

I was in a similar situation once where I was swimming in a lake and was fatiguing, was getting exhausted. But for some reason, and I don't know if everyone can do this, but I can just lay down on my back and can float in water all day long if I wanted to, and so that's what I did... swim a little, feel myself getting tired, lay on back, repeat until I got back to ground.

Anyway, sad to see people having such little regard for life

One of the core arguments of this essay is that, if one can use one's wealth to reduce suffering — for example, by aiding famine-relief efforts — without any significant reduction in the well-being of oneself or others, it is immoral not to do so.According to Singer, such inaction is clearly immoral if a child is drowning in a shallow pond and someone can save it but chooses not to;[6] nor does placing greater geographical distance between the person in need and the potential helper reduce the latter's moral obligations:

It makes no difference whether the person I can help is a neighbor's child ten yards away from me or a Bengali whose name I shall never know, ten thousand miles away. [...] The moral point of view requires us to look beyond the interests of our own society. Previously [...], this may hardly have been feasible, but it is quite feasible now. From the moral point of view, the prevention of the starvation of millions of people outside our society must be considered at least as pressing as the upholding of property norms within our society.[7]

The affluent, says Singer, are consistently guilty of failing to recognize this, having large amounts of surplus wealth that they do not use to aid humanitarian projects in developing nations.

Guess that answers that.
All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.

So you don't care about a random guy drowning because he has some tattoos, a person you literally know nothing about, but this morning you were crying about that singer who killed himself, another person you know nothing about, a person who looked like a junkie, just as much as this guy looks like a thug. Is it bad? It makes you a hypocrite.
