it's the exact same nonsensical argument you're making. you can't value these things off production cost. exactly the same as your situation, if the end user values it at that price, that's what it's worth. free market etc etc

Goddamn I should really re-evaluate my views based on the data below. Turns out women aren't that retarded after all. Numales and baby boomers are infinitely more retarded.
Thank you, grandpa Joe. You're Apple's best customer -- in terms of how much you spend.
Men aged 65 and older spent more on Apple devices than any other demographic group in the United States last year, according to Slice Intelligence, which tracks online shopping data.
That group, though not even one-quarter of all Apple customers, spent $976 online on average per person on iGadgets.
They outspent the young female demographic by more than $400. (Women 25 to 34 spent the least out of all the age groups.See correction below.)
Men far outspent women in every age category by about $200 to $300.

How do you defend that?

BRB dropping 1k on a phone
Just kidding Brb paying 25 a month over the course of a year or two. Seriously isn't that much. Barely even notice it. While you may not use a new piece of tech to its maximum potential... Some do.
Not that I'd get an iPhone tho cause I'm an android brah

i don't agree with the pricing of phones, particularly since they did away with contracts that reduce the pricing, but lets be real here. a smart phone is a huge benefit to everyday life. and $1000 is a small price to pay.
I myself just blew almost $3000 on having my dog professionally trained, which many people would say is an absolute waste of a money. But it will improve my day to day with him being more obedient and able to understand me better, so to me it's worth it. I've literally had him back one day so far, and it already makes me indescribably happier seeing him understand, perform, and be rewarded properly. And i can tell it makes him happier too

Hey guys should I spend $10 on this luxury water bottle? I know the $1 water bottle will also quench my thirst, but this one has a bunch of extra features I need like added minerals and a fancy logo. And I drink these at work, so it really pays for itself if you think about it. And just lol at the poverty *******s who can't afford the $10 one. I could buy one every day and not even notice. And I was already paying $8 for the other kind, so what's a little more? And I can refill it unlimited times, so I get so much time out of it. You can refill the $1 one unlimited times too, but that's not the point. Besides, I can do payments of $1/month for the next 100 months so it's basically only a dollar

I don't get what you want to get out of making this thread. Back when the XBox One came out, I literally laughed out loud at the price. It was something like 3X what I would ever pay for a gaming system. But I didn't give a **** that others were buying it. Especially because value is so subjective. I do barely any gaming. For some people, it's their entire lives. They probably would think some of the things I spend my money on is unreasonable. So what? Is this how we're going to evaluate one's character from now on? We can decide who is better than whom based on how much money they drop on certain frivolities? You're just a whiny little bitch.

You can refill the $1 one unlimited times too, but that's not the point. Besides, I can do payments of $1/month for the next 100 months so it's basically only a dollar
I am on my phone at least 4/5 hours per day. Had a galaxy and thought it sucked ass. I'll pay whatever Apple charges because I like using my iphone. I don't usually upgrade immediately, but I like having a new phone.
If you can't afford it, or don't think it's worth it, cool. But if you're going to get up on your high horse and rant about how some of us spend our money you can fuk off
