Are you me? I am in the exact same situation. Gave up on having a partner but I don't care because I am aromantic(?). I'm also not earning anything right now but have zero expenses because I work for my dad.

I think it's inaccurate to paint all FAs/incels with the same brush; some FA/incel types do try, probably more than the average person, but still don't get results. And the same can be said for those who get women - some try and are rewarded, but others don't try at all and have women all over them.

In other words - there's more to the incel/FA conundrum than just application of effort to dating.

Speaking personally...

I put solid effort into dating from the ages of 25 to 30. My efforts weren't superhuman or anything, but I think it'd be safe to say I put in more effort into dating than your "average" guy does. Anyway, I'm now 32, and with hindsight I can honestly say I would rather have channelled my efforts into things OTHER than dating over that 5 year span... learning a new skill, picking up a sport, more efforts into advancing my career, etc - doing any of these would have been a far better time investment.

In fact, now that I think about it, I would say I generally don't put much stock in "trying" when it comes to dating, and that effort would be far better spent improving oneself in various ways.

This is probably where PUA and game have had a damaging effect on a lot of men - many have been lead to believe you can bypass the rules of the game (i.e. becoming a successful, developed, interesting person) and get women. I suppose a few men can, but they're the exception rather than the rule, and most men would be better off channelling their efforts more traditionally.
