You are gravely mistaking. You're only 29 sonny, all matters of your life are firmly in your grasp.

Sounds like you have no debt, a roof over your head, internet access and parents that are STILL supporting despite your terrible behavior. Obviously you're not a complete retard cause you did get a Masters. Even tho MANY extremely stupid people get degrees, at least you are not the very bottom tier of stupid.

You want to work a trade? Literally no easier business to get into. Pick a trade and start calling contractors in your area. Tell them you'll start at the bottom and work your way up... then do it. It IS that simple. Plus, I mean come on, booze and cigs? You're halfway to being a fukin tradie anyway ayyyyy lmmmaaaooo.

Jokes aside, the actual challenge is IN YOUR HEAD. Yes that can be more challenging that tangible obstacles, yet mental obstacles have the advantage of being able to be overcome by willpower alone. Your inability to move forward is a function of your thoughts, and thoughts you can change.

Do it *******.

To be honest i have tried stopping all these habits. Did loads of gym. But even then things dont fix, so i fall in this trap again since im so bored and dont have anything to do for the 16 hours of the day.

Also I think you're way too comfortable. You need to change your environment, habits, etc. or nothing will change. Stop watching porn, using internet much, avoid instant gratification. Your parents should get a therapist to help you, and also take away, your internet and timesink, low-effort, instantly gratifying technology, and then your motivation will rise I bet.

If you had nothing to occupy your day with, other than staring at a wall, or filling out applications, going outside, and meeting people, etc. Unless you're clinically depressed, you will go out and do something more with your life.

If you didn't play video games, you'd be so bored, you'd have no choice but to do something productive. You're addicted to video games. Just admit it. Then get help.

Sadly, I doubt he will take our advice. Plenty of us try to help him, but he always comes back without trying to implement changes in his life.

No harm in taking advice. Some of them are supportive.

But at this point im more of a believer that all the matters in my life are due to a natural process which i have no control over.

What's your diet like?
Ever want to quit smoking and drinking?
Are you depressed?

The first two are causing the third.
It is not so much the major events as the small day-to-day decisions that map the course of our living. . . Our lives are, in reality, the sum total of our seemingly unimportant decisions and of our capacity to live by those decisions. ― Gordon B. Hinckley

First off learn some grammar, title should read "ask a guy who's been jobless for 8 years anything".

Not "hurr durr ask a guy anything who's been jobless for 8 years".

You dyslexic or something?

Also OP do some fasting (dead srs) will straighten you right up with your addictions, from then eat healthy, and as they say "get up, get out, and get some".
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

If not trolling you're brave for posting this on the internet where everyone's a winner and a CEO/10K-Day. But do you just not want to work or have you just not found anything that pays what you think you're worth? I overheard some millennial family members who are in their thirties and have never had a job state that they won't even consider working below $20/hr. Was kind of mind boggling and I figured it was just a way of patting themselves on the back instead of just admitting they don't want to work.
