I agree with you, as I didn't really celebrate quitting video games (This isn't the place for arguing chemical vs behavioural addiction). But that doesn't mean you have to rain on somebody's parade.

I too thought "Wow, only 3 months? I probably have one beer every 4" but then I quashed my ego and decided to just read why it's a big deal. Turns out the MFer has been downing cases daily so I can only commend that.

Bobby I'm glad you were able to rid yourself of a crutch, regardless of what and how.

- Yuck energy drinks
- Mad impressive. Guessing AM workouts before the drinking started? If I ever have more than 1 beer im probably not working out after that, that day.
- First step to fixing the problem is recognizing the problem. Do you brah
- This + being successful at it, I can definitely see how it enables that lifestyle.
- Not terrible, but definitely a drinker. Case/Week is probably me on my hardest of weekends, I don't usually drink daily.

How do you feel compared to before? I've been drinking too much lately, almost every night. I'm contemplating quitting, or at least restricting it to vacations and special events.

Do you feel a lot better now?

Slow your roll fella. I didn't see anything in his posts about relying on someone else. He should be proud of how far he's come and so should you. As an addict you don't have any empathy for him?

Congrats! I haven't drank since thanksgiving. Feels good. Even though I usually only drank once a week. Was a waste of money and I'm tired of the hangover.

Honestly, I can understand where your mindset is. I have a similar mindset in that when I fall, I don't want help, and I don't see it as an accomplishment to get back to normal. It's what I expect from myself.

But that doesn't change the fact that not everyone is like that. Some people appreciate support and good words. The path to getting off addiction is different for anyone. You should be proud of being clean, and so should anyone who managed to get their life together. It was not necessary to come into a positive thread and take a shot at an addict trying to recover and get himself straight.

Thanks, my bro.
25-30 beers a day is unreal but glad you beat it and keep going strong. After a weekend of heavy drinking I usually swear of the stuff.

Never asked you before but were your workouts ever affected or was your body just used to it? Do you feel better while working out now? And bet you feel good to have 500+ extra dollars a month.

congrats brah, I hit 3 years since nov 2017 myself. After the first month I noticed it got easier and easier to just power through a new routine that didnt include drinking/smoking, cant say I feel much temptation at all now, it feels great when not having bad habits that werent working for you becomes the new normal for you instead.

Lol at the only negative, upset ******* itt calling others angry and tiny.

You claim its best to rely only on yourself yet in the same post tell us that you had to help get your sibling sober. Well which one is it *******? Do you need other peoples help or not? Why did your siblings need your help?

What are your goals, seems like a weird question but are you looking to stay forever sober without an ounce of alcohol? Or would you like to mentally separate from the dependency enough so that you could enjoy a beer or 2 on special occasions and not fall back on bad habits?

I know from personal experience, after college (binge drinking culture) I got so sick of drinking I stopped altogether for years that I had no desire to even have a single drink. Now I'm like a 1 or 2 beer social drinker for either special occasions or with a good meal at a nice restaurant and as soon as I feel a slight buzz my body shuts off the desire to have another drink.
