How dare you!

Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.

I have two bones to pick in this thread! First and foremost I HATE when miscers post that fat fukkin sausage fingered Shawn lane. So what he can flop his fat ugly fingers all over a fretboard and make ugly sounds. I have NEVER seen a vid posted where he plays anything that is close to pleasing to the ear. And yes I fully understand that what he does is technically difficult, but he has no feel whatsoever.

Second bone is with the poster latverian, I was going to let it go but this is the fourth time over the last couple days I've seen you post "ridecules" and I'm starting to think that you think that is the proper spelling of "ridiculous" lmao. So please stop doing that.

I dont like shawn lanes playing either but it doesnt change the fact that from a technical standpoint hes miles better than albert lee. If were talking technical skill, musicianship, and everything else i give it to Guthrie Govan all day everyday.

Only three?

So many awesome guitarists to list...

If I had to choose three that influenced me the most, I'd probably go with Joe Satriani, Buckethead, and a toss up between Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman back during his Megadeth days.

Much too subjective a subject.

BUT, if I had to go with three I’d take:

Jimi (impossible to leave him off imo)
Jeff Beck
Uli Jon Roth (Malmsteen’s biggest influence)
FSU "Go Noles!"

That dude still has Jimi's main and favourite Strat locked away somewhere in the same condition it was on the night Jimi died, probably never to be seen again. Pretty much the holy grail of guitars.

I can give credit where it's due, I know that his skills are master level, just that it's not pleasing to listen to. Much like when a rapper raps stupid fast to show their chops but it just doesn't sound good. I will admit that the vid you posted is the only one I've ever heard from him that sounds like music and not just fat fingers flopping around. Plus I think I really just can't stand watching a fat ass wobble around a stage.
