Just read the book. This guy was brazen and ruthless. Had an entire city patrolling all hours for him and he still kept going. Worth a read if you're into true crime.

Pro raper tip: he used to put a saucer and a cup on the husband's back while he raped the wife. He said if he heard the cup make any noise, he'd kill them both. Imagine having to lie completely still while hearing/seeing your wife get raped by this guy.

The killer never sent his DNA. A relative of him most likely did and from there they checked family history to find a possible suspect. After narrowing it down they began surveillance and found a discarded DNA sample (Most likely from his trash). To confirm he is the killer.


Those DNA databases definitely end up in the Feds possession. Sorry future serial killers.

And while we're at it. Its kind of irrelevant. Chances are someone in your family has used those services also. A lot of cases have been solved through linking family DNA. I think that's how the BTK killer got caught as well.
