My oldest didn't make the freshman squad a couple of years ago. She was butthurt but she just cheered through a cheer gym and not the school. Cheer gyms pretty much take anyone they just place them according to skill level and age.
Why can't the schools have separate teams like that? That way people that want to cheer can, while those most qualified can compete.

Who cares, let her join. It not like theyre going to let her perform. Let her be a benchwarmer to shut her up.

They should have interviewed the football team and asked if she meets the requirements for running a train on.

Yup. My first question to her would be,” Does it hurt not makingthe team?” “ Practice and train harder and try again next year. Use that anger and sadness as a means to become better.” Woild probably eat ice cream with and console that night though cuz woman feelings.

A list of things that's going to happen.
1) she'll injure herself badly because it's basically gymnastics
2) the girls and probably boys will hate her bcos they want to win and don't want a scrub
3) she's going to get teased by the whole school

Fukin hippies, man. Care more about feelings than morals. Should ship them off to Cuba so they can all live their dream of being equals. Making $20 a month with no individual rights.

Cheer actually is a sport, for the ignorant posts: They compete in a physical activity. It costs money for the school to suit up and train each participant. Meaning limited resources = limited participation. How is that hard to understand?

"Let's just scrap marking tests while we're at it.. I'm gonna go cry because I want 100% test scores. What's that, I can't be a CEO 10k/day at age 18??? Whaaaaw!!!"

Screw these post modern commies. Can't believe Liberals have sunk this low. Likely don't even realize what they're doing.

Don't they have Varsity and JV? She'll be forever in JV status and probably won't get a serious role in the group.

I denounce participation trophy culture, but in Aus anyone can join a sport except you're gonna get put in a team graded on your ability

Should have tiered competition, Gotta get as many kids active as possible srs

this.

They had the A squad cheerleaders with the pretty athletic girls, then the B team pep squad who were normal unpopular and semi coordinated girls, then the C team flag girls who were the wildebeasts prancing around with ribbons.

You and I both know damn well it wouldnt end there. More than likely the daughter or her mom would complain about why isnt her daughter in the front with all the other girls.

I remember lifting after school as a freshman. The upper classmen said come on man lets go watch cheerleeder tryouts. I was like WTF.
Seriously though, it was some of the most entertaining **** I ever seen. The crying, delusion, drama.... Not just the girls, the parents too.

^^^^^^

This dude gets it. The girl's parents have no idea what they just caused for this little drama queen. That chick is going to think about suicide daily while on that team. High school girls are absolutely ruthless when it comes to this crap, especially when competition is involved. I can't wait to see the follow-up news story.
