Definitely drive down to the half moon cay area and drive along the shore. Amazing views.

There's a sweet trail overlooking the bay area near a reservoir too, but can't remember the name of it.

Would like to make an addition or two:
If/when you go to Ghirardelli square, there is a pier right next to it that offers a fantastic view of Downtown SF skyline, Alacatraz, and the Golden Gate all at the same time, if you hit nice weather (no fog) this is a MUST in my opinion.

If you are looking for a nice / special upscale dinner one night, I have two words my friend:
Gary Danko - difficult to get reservations, so book as far in advance as possible.

Going to the pier to take photos.
Going to the Golden gate Bridge to take photos.
everything is expensive as fuark there.
Going to the sidewalks and take curved street photos.

Idk if you need reservations for Alcatraz but it was nice I toured there once.

Depending on how long you're there, there's:

Land's End. It's a nice scene right at the beach/end of Golden Gate Park.

Golden Gate Bridge. duh.

Dolores Park. Large park/open space, tons of people lounge around and gather.

Twin Peaks. High point on top of the city, great view.

Golden Gate Park. just venture around, from the Botanical Gardens, to the Japanese Tea Garden, there's lots to see. Can rent a small boat and venture around Stow Lake.

Pier 39 & Fisherman's Wharf. lots of botiques and stores, can see street performers, painters and other acts as well sometimes.

^Boudin. it's a bakery, makes Sourdough bread SF is known for.

Westfield Mall. large mall in the heart of downtown.

I'm sure i missed lots, so hopefully there's other recommendation for you!

-If you're into baseball (or even if you aren't), the Giants play in probably the coolest stadium ever built.

I know a little more about Oakland spots, so if you happen to roll through there, I recommend Plank which is a kickass bowling/bar/biergarten and Forge Pizza which is on the water.

Stay the f out of the tenderloin. I'd opt for any kind of game at Kezar Stadium instead of a giants game, but I'm biased. As already stated, check out twin peaks, the various battery sites near the Presidio. There are some amazing trails to hike, especially at sunset. The Disney museum. If you're into scenery, both bridges look amazing from treasure island at night. The hot dog stand guy has some bomb homemade tamales if he's there and hasn't sold out. Check to see if there are any street fairs going on. If you're coming next week as in next Sunday, check the route of bay to breakers, cant get crazy and may want to avoid it. It's definitely entertaining, though.

Friday nights fort Mason hosts off the grid which has a variety of local foods from street trucks, live music, wine and beer. Cold AF, so layer up.

Definitely do Alcatraz. Grab a pupusa or 3 from panchitas in the mission. Mitchell's ice cream is good. Also in the mission-ish. Classic, old school ice cream with a bunch of different flavors. Academy of science and the exploratorium are for adults only on Thursday nights. Cool to check out at least once. Take a walk through golden gate park, there are a herd of American bison, kinda cool to see in person. Ocean beach sunsets with a bonfire are cool too. There are a few spaces dedicated to bonfires, just need wood. Emporium is pretty decent, younger crowd, they serve alcohol, decent beer selection and have old school arcade games, pinball, etc.

So many different places for food it's hard to recommend any. Epic steak on the embarcadero is good. There's also a whiskey bar on the embarcadero called hard water if you're into whiskey. State bore provisions on Fillmore is supposedly amazing, have not been yet. The marina, mainly chestnut and union, is good for picking up chicks if you're trying to get into that. The palace of fine arts is also located in that district. Beautiful to see at night.

Angel island has tours of the immigration camp of you're into history. Humbling.

Gotta do the Seward park slides.

Also stay away from south of market. 5th and 6th streets mostly. You'll know. I've picked up a lot of tourists who have been rocked and then had their crap taken.

Honestly the only thing you'll want to see is Alcatraz brah. SF is a HUGE sheethole. Homeless pissing, shyting on everything, the crowds, the parking, the ridiculous cost of food. Just drive over the bridge, do the Alcatraz tour and call it a day. Head down the cost to Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, head North into Napa, wine country, Lagunitas is in Petaluma, Safari West is in Santa Rosa.

Live and work in sf checking in. Lots of great suggestions ITT but a few things I have not seen mentioned.

La Taqueria or El Farolito in the Mission. GOAT burritos/tacos

Golden Gate Tap Room. Right by union square and an excellent spot to watch the NBA playoffs

SF Academy of Sciences. In Golden Gate Park. Amazing wildlife, albino alligator, tons of cool chit. If you go on a Thursday night they have a DJ and serve alcohol

Epic Steak. Amazing food with an incredible view of the bay bridge

Cityscape bar. High rise bar and one of the best views I’ve ever seen

The View. At the Marriott hotel downtown. Another bar with 10/10 views

Carbin Grill. Korean bbq in the Richmond district. All you can eat and delicious as fukk

if you'll do Muir Woods, go super early. we went, and *******s had the exit to it blocked because it was so backed up.
if youre bored, walk up to coit tower, just to see whats inside the tower thats in all the photos.
