It's even worse than that. We evolved to have a 50/50 ratio because so many men were required for women to exist. Women no longer need men for war, hunting, building shelter, chasing off predators, etc. 80% of all men could disappear tomorrow and our species wouldn't skip a beat from a biological standpoint. Even 50% males is way, way too many for a modern society. Yikes.

woman still need men to PAY lots of taxes and support the country. They are indirectly benefiting. so if 80% of men disappear. It will be a lot of problems for them

Yes economically we aren't there yet, but we will be and it's going to be a huge problem. Automation is going to kill millions of jobs that are traditionally 90%+ male. So there will be millions upon millions of men who are unwanted by females AND indefinitely unemployable. Society will always prioritize the well being of women over men, so I don't think they have much to worry about.

Yes we aren't prepared to lose so many workers YET. Biologically speaking, we have way too many men. Just look at social media. Economically, we can't lose so many, but in the future we will be able to.

The first wave of automation will kill grunt labor jobs. It's going to take much longer for skilled jobs since so many will be done by China and India for cheaper than a machine.

I am actually not kidding and I agree. I have no doubt android/robotic technology alongside VR is going to nearly perfectly replicate anything the human brain wants to enjoy. You already have female lobby groups trying to ban certain sex toys; I mean think about it... who loses out the most if sex because nearly 99% replaceable with nearly zero negatives? I am not saying I want to replace sex, but for so many men who have to settle, giving them options is going to be a multi-billion dollar enterprise. It's not far fetched that in order to get off this planet in time we will basically have to be integrated with technology. Not just for AI to help boost our brain--which may not evolve fast enough--,not just to be a biological fortress, not just to be able to survive hyperspace travel but even perhaps to fully change the breeding process. Imagine showing someone an iphone 50 years ago? Technological breakthroughs are still happening at an exponential S-pattern.

It sounds cold, but I don't think many people realize how far we have to go before we can even attempt anything to avoid this solar systems demise. We could have a successful manned landing on Mars, but we don't even have the technology to exit it's atmosphere once we're there. There are so many theoretical solutions but we are still bogged down by our biological/brain limitations, resources and massively needed technological breakthroughs.

Meanwhile 90% of the world is just comatose with politics, ancient beliefs/practices, and numbing, inconsequential satisfaction. You don't have to travel back in time, just take a plane ticket. The gap between those responsible for everything we see and use and those who just exist is larger than ever - when we should be trying to bridge that gap.

Maybe all the primal happiness we enjoy is something that cannot be continued in order for us to truly survive.
