Avengers is more of the same...

brb. greatest hero is going to be female (which doesn't follow any of the marvel line where we have hulk/Thor/Warlock/etc). brb. cap marvel out just before IW2. So basically have to see it as its pivotal to IW2 which is a must see. Cap marvel is basically gonna get ticketsales because of IW2.

Imagine if IW was a single movie...

You watch half the movie, then you gotta sit and watch a 2h feminism fest movie before you watch the ending which you didn't sign up for.

YES.

Let's break it down. The rumored next in line is Kiri Hart who put together the team of writers responsible for TLJ. Those writers are still there and still have the same motives. The franchise is done. There is no one at Lucasfilm who can handle Star Wars properly.

Not making sense here. Marvel always makes a profit for Disney. Even the bad movies.

Star Wars is supposed to be a cash cow that they would milk for all its worth. The toys aren't selling, neither are the clothes, books, Blu Rays, comic books, and now we have the first Star Wars flop.

I remember watching The Last Jedi, and when the scene between the Admiral and the pilot happened in the beginning, I knew it was going to be bad.

I do remember there being a collective gasp when everyone thought Leia died. Imagine if she had, now that would have been something.

Adolf Hitler could have produce TFA and TLJ and they would have still smashed box office records. I really hate all these disney cucks who keep writing articles citing the financial success as a reason why Star Wars or Kathleen Kennedy are fine. Its a new Star Wars trilogy that had Han, Leia, and Luke...they were guarenteed successes no matter how ****ty the story, and we learned that the hard way.

Solo failing is a direct result of TLJ being so ****ty. Its quite bizzare the state Star Wara in when you consider Kathleen kennedys resume. It reads like a list of every classic ever made in my lifetime. The difference here is that she was given complete CREATIVE control and clearly its not her strong suit. She injected far left politics into a beloved franchise and turned it from a classic heroes journey fairy tale into a left wing porpagandist piece about unstoppable women who cant do any wrong.

The trend will only continue, Solo was just the first. IX will have a massive fall off financially. Episode VIII was meant to actually connect us with the new characters but instead they were made even worse and more insufferable. I literally couldnt care any leas if Rey, Finn and Poe get blown to shreds in the openeing scene of IX.

Rogue One was by far the best Disney Star Wars.

This is demonstrably bullchit.

Complete and utter garbage.

Disney, as I've pointed out, spend $4,000,000,000 to get the rights. They need to make 10-20% return on that annually to be considered a good investment. Meaning, they need to make $400,000,000 minimum just to go, "meh". 4 billion "revenue" doesn't cut it when you have to consider the costs of the movies, the marketing, them splitting that revenue with theaters and such.

FA, TLJ and Rogue One were profitable, no doubt, they made money, they did what they needed to do - but don't fuk around and kid yourself that somehow revenue = profits or ignore that any profits below $400 million are unacceptable and would be a failure.

Soylo *losing* money, not even paying for it's production much less making a profit, and likely by $100,000,000 or more -- that's fuking horrific for Disney. Instead of making $400,000,000 to basically break even, they're in the fuking red on this one. That is a disaster of epic proportions.
Let's not act like the Force awakens was only just profitable. It was one of the highest grossing films of all time. Regarding the profit and whether they've come close to recouping their 4 billion investment is tough to say because we don't know what their profit margin is for the movies. I've read that they made billions on the toys so depending on the profit margins on that it's possible that they are close to recouping their money and could easily have above a 10-20% return. We don't have enough information to know either way. Regardless of the Star wars though, disney is clearing killing it through their Marvel movies/toys hence Disney is fine. Let's not act like because of the poor performance of Solo that Disney is anywhere near bankruptcy.

Disney has so many ways to make money off of Star Wars: Movies, toys, video games, rides, clothing, etc.

They're completely ignoring the flop for now until the Fox deal goes through since it's dependent on Disney stock. That's why it's not clear how desperate they are. It's not that the initial film wasn't one of the most profitable of all time, it's that KK has taken the most profitable franchise of all time and BURIED it. That delta, the difference is just mind-boggling. I think that's what everyone is really trying to say.

Agreed, Darth Vader scene was the only thing that made that movie good. I couldnโ€™t tell you one character name, or other scene I liked.

Even Phantom Menace, which is considered one of the worser Star Wars movies, had many great scenes and you remember basically every characterโ€™s name.

Right. I mean its been years since I've watched but who won't remember Padme, Qui-gon, Mace Windu, General Greivous, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, etc. Those movies were really under rated by critics. Some awesome scenes and characters even if the plot was a bit plodding and predictable.

In the new series we have the rainbow coalition fronted by a fat asian girl who went from sucking off droids in the underbelly of the rebel base to freedom fighter main love interest hero of the story. Pure unadulterated bullchit. Worst "heroes journey" ever.

Well it looks like while the last jedi didn't do anywhere near as well as the force awakens it still made over 1bill in revenue and articles are claiming it made more than 400 mil in profits. I would think that the next movie no matter how bad will still break even. Even if the movie tanks, Disney is valued at over 100 bil and should still be fine and nowhere near bankruptcy. Although I haven't looked at how much debt they are currently carrying or the Fox deal.

Regardless they ruined the franchise. The finn and asian girl sideplot was horrific, lightspeed crash was a huge plothole, we learned nothing about Snoke, 2 morons who aren't much of a threat are in charge in Hux and Kylo. They made Rey far too powerful, and they killed all of the interesting characters. There's no reason to see the last movie. At least in Solo I enjoyed the bromance between Chewbacca and Han and also Beckett's character.

The Last Jedi was a sequel that should have made as much as The Force Awakens, or possibly even more.

Rogue One was practically a war movie, the action scenes were gritty. It was a return to the Darth Vader from Episode 4 and 5.

Rogue One was slow and had underdeveloped characters. The saving grace is the main character Jyn Erso, the Captain and the third act with the Battle on Scariff.

The Force Awakens while being a carbon copy of A New Hope was a fun movie due to JJ Abrams kinetic ADD directing. The first act is set up really well but the 2nd act has narrative issues(Poe randomly disappears) and the 3rd act is a been there done that due to Starkiller Base being Death Star 2.0. This is a really good entry movie. It sets up the introduction to new characters really well but the world building is terrible. It really seems like not much has changed since Return of the Jedi. Reistance vs First Order = Rebels vs Empire 2.0. Starkiller Base=Death Star 2.0. Snoke=Emperor 2.0. Rey=Luke 2.0. Kylo Ren is an Anakin Wannbe.

The Last Jedi is a mess. It exapnds on the problem of JJ's mystery boxes from The Force Awakens. It feels like Rian Johnson did not know how to answer those questions. Luke is also mischaracterized.(Fulfills Hero's Journey to sad pathetic old guy) Canto Bight is very unnecessary and bogs the movie down. The plot is also a Battlestar Galactica rip off. Even though this is supposed to be a middle chapter it feels like it already concludes everything.

Solo-Unnecessary movie. Don't plan on seeing it in Theaters. Will rent on Blu-Ray.

Star Wars Episode III-Revenge of the Sith is an awesome movie. It's a Shakespearean Tragedy with Anakins fall to the Dark Side as Darth Vader. The only problem is that his fall to the Dark Side was very fast. Also George Lucas sucks at writing dialogue.

Star Wars fans give a fuk about the franchise. We demand and deserve better. We want great Star Wars movies. Going from Batman & Robin to Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan was able to revive Batman. Marvel turned D-list characters(example: Guardians of the Galaxy) into household names. Disney Animation had their renaissance in the 90's.

Yeah, I liked the General Hux character in The Force Awakens, hated him in The Last Jedi.
Also, I can't really get into Kylo Ren, he acts like a spoiled child, and the character who plays him is in this 30s.

Didn't read whole thread but I have a question....

Why don't they make an R rated version of something like Boba Fett, rise of Vader, etc? They can market it towards adults. It can be violent and showcase how these people became child-hood favorites of millions of kids (and adults). It can skip all the SJW bull**** too.

I don't get it. Am I the only one interested in this kind of thing?

Fuking liberal cucks can't admit this sith apprentice bitchkunt fukstain Kathleen whore Kennedy ruined Luke Skywalker in 1 fuking film. A legacy of 30 years pissed away to make some cheap statement about the patriarchy. Fuk that. The most hardcore SW fans have HATED everything about this new trilogy. It is even worse than the prequels and dishonors the entire franchise. Darth Kathleen and her Sarlacc roast beef vagina can go suck a dick and take thier identity politics out of Star Wars. I will not give them another dollar until they remove that bitch's power. Fuking whore.

Would be awesome but they won't do it. Any restriction of the audience means less money.

This bit seriously triggered me. They try and latch on or contort absolutely everything to push their fuking oppression narrative or tear down what they don't like. There is just about nothing in popular culture that gets left unpeverted.
