Go to the gym near midnight crew, so there's not many people for me to cringe at. I usually cringe at myself an my poverty B/S/D numbers, not to mention I'm still super clueless about a lot of th machines so I have to stop and look at the direction stickers first lmao.
Just tonight in my gym a song that my ex used to send me when we first met came on. That stirred my emotions and rustled me enough to push out some angry final reps. Chit still bothers me a bit and I hate it.

- Baldcels trying to project "toughness" by sneering as they walk around, with their invisible lat syndrome. We get it, you're bald, over the hill, and you're insecure lmao.
- *******s having a little tea-party near the dumbell rack, when lots of others want to train.
- FOB asians (lmao) doing the weirdest chit with machines/weights etc. Common at my gym in Sydney
- Dweebs that bang their dumbells together during shoulder press... completely missing the point
- Old guys who don't train with integrity, and are there for attention/tea party *******ry/ or to hit on girls (and fail)
- People who talk very LOUDLY
- People who spend way too long staring into the mirror, and trying to catch another persons eye at the same time... for some weird sense of validation

Gym Cringe: Army Edition...
Currently stationed in Kuwait (stationed, because we all know Kuwait isn't a deployment, amiright?).
Here's some of the cringy sh*t I see on a daily basis:
> Video chat conversations while: on machines, doing cardio, AND moving between machines. You're not working hard enough if you can hold a conversation and the latter is always in the way bumping into people - get off your phucking phone!
> Hoodies. Bruh, it's the desert.
> Not reracking weights
> Barbell curls in the squat rack. There's only two squat racks - don't be a d!ck. Especially since we have fixed-weight barbells over in the dumbbell area.
> Groups of 3-5 newbs taking instruction from their "alpha", waiting their turn for the exercise. But who was 5 minute rest between sets?
> Taking up more than one machine. Again, it's not Gold's Gym. We have limited equipment - don't be a d!ck.
> Leaving their towels and empty water bottles around the gym like it's someone else's job to clean up.
> Rapping and dancing. Bruh, no one else can hear what you're hearing - to us you just look like you broke into a random rain dance.
...and last but not least, the cringiest thing I see here...
> Dudes using sarcastic teasing to hit on chicks. They are almost always right in the middle of a set and clearly being interrupted by cringe-master flex. Their follow-on chortle is blatantly forced and awkward and they clearly want him to go away.

Nothing. I feel like after you've been doing the fitness thing long enough you stop caring/being a hater and focusing more on yourself while at the gym. Eat what you want to eat. Lift how you want to lift.

I noticed a trend that starting last year where everyone and their mother now uses powerlifting knee wraps just to add 50lbs to their quarter squats so they can feel even more accomplished and "hardcore"
And the other stereotypical person with 400 dollars in gear but 10 cent techniques: Nike Romaleos, PL belt, PL knee sleeves, matching clothing....all just to have trash technique. And sometimes these people aren't even strong but wanted to look the part first I guess.

Actually so many things
Using gloves or the pad for squatting
Half squats with lots of weight on the bar
Only doing isolation exercises
Guys doing front squats with their elbows practically by their sides. Ive literally gone up to people in the past and corrected their elbows for them.
Ppl paying a PT and the training is clearly chit
Bad deadlift form
Leaving lots of plates on the bar while its on the rack
People doing box jumps terrify me

At my old gym there was a group of 3-5 Indian guys regularly training together "socially" .. hogging 2-3 benches, chatting/laughing (even when nobody is doing a set), posing in the mirror together incessantly between sets RIGHT near the dbell racks.. You can imagine.
Anyway, got sick of it one time while putting dumbbells back and got right in there way and gave them a gnarly / pitiful look.. They understood right away, was just ignorant of any gym etiquette.
Nice guys tho, got along with them after. Noticed they got into their training a bit harder after that too (srs)

bad deadlifting form easily takes the cake.
selfies, videos, hoodies, dropping weights, not doing the sets/reps with the weight you want/expect them to do, resting 5+minutes....YOU CAN DO ALL OF THAT FOR ONE YEAR straight and leave the gym with no injuries.
I see somebody deadlifting with their back rounded...i think how many more till we just hear a yelp of pain in the gym. Do deadlifts for one year with your back rounded with 60-80% weight 6-12 reps and watch the next topic be. "I think i fcuked up my back"
The idea of it deadlifting alone, fitness cats on youtube don't even fcuk with the exercise, but you'll see them drop weights, do videos, etc.

Yoga masters taking up power racks or benches to perform yoga moves with little or no weights involved whatsoever. Basically chit they could easily do anywhere in the world, but they waste popular lifting equipiment to do it.
Try-hards wearing overpriced Beats headphones.
Mean mugging for no reason.
People with hippie hygiene who are oblivious to how horrible their B.O. gets when they work out.
Dental floss sized stringers.
Elevation masks.
Crossfit cheat reps that they invariably brag about on social media like it was all legit.
Lanklets slamming 15-60lb dumbbells on the floor after a set like they're Ronnie Coleman finishing a set with 250's.

Anything done for "show":
Grunting
Slamming weights
Loud conversations across the gym
Excessive posing/staring
Pointlessly complicated workouts
Shadow Boxing
Strutting around with ILS
Stringers
etc.
As long as someone is there to workout, or even socialize appropriately without disturbing others, they are fine in my books. Anything clearly done for attention annoys me.

Don't have many but main are:
Leaving a machine/mat drenched in your sweat. Even if you don't have a towel at least try and clean it up...
People leaving weights on the bar
People throwing down the weights. I get sometimes you can't place them down but it's noisy and annoying.
Don't really care what people wear, if they grunt, how they look. Whatever.

The single most cringiest thing I see... is somebody who obviously just started lifting who carries around a fkn gym bag you could fit a body in filled with $500 worth of lifting gear he doesn't need and 1 gallon tub of whey... you know.. so he can sit in the locker room and drink it so he doesn't miss the anabolic window. And I think the only reason this bothers me is because these people generally aren't very serious in there and will just end up camping out on something I want to get on while they browse social media...

people that try to act hardcore in the gym. Usually pacing around with their hoodie on like they're about to get into fight.

Cliques (especially friendzone crews)
Ego leg pressers -- especially when the gym is crowded and they're hogging plates for no purpose
People who shout chit like "LIGHTWEIGHT BABY" constantly. Loud encouragement once in a while isn't annoying at all but when people make a habit of it...
Ridiculous levels of dumbbell hogging "for supersets" - again, especially when it's busy

Leaving all your weight on the bar. I can understand leaving a 45 on each side if there's no room to rerack your stuff, but leaving 315 on the bar then walking off is annoying as hell. People still think someone is using it and frustrating.
Guys who go out of their way to talk to every female in the gym but will completely avoid talking to men. We have a dude here who will talk to a female for like 30 minutes straight and have a different woman working out with him every now and then.
Taking your 10-15 minutes between sets. I understand if you gotta piss badly, but walking off for that long talking to your friends is just wrong.

When people not only don't re-rack weights, but place the plates on the wrong pegs...most are marked at my gym too...in between sets I usually straighten them out.
