@OP - funny how many people are defending this guy. People can do whatever they want in a gym unless it affects me, and my problem normally is people posing only at the mirrors in front of the dumbbell rack, or moving the benches so close to the dumbbell rack that you have to walk around to get them etc. The worst is people doing barbell curls on the dumbbell rack with multiple barbells at different weights, stopping to f'n flex between sets. I simply pick them up and put them on the floor if I need to get weights now - it's absurd how selfish some people are, even after the gym owners tell them off for the chit behavior.

Someone pilled a bunch of 45lb plates on one of the flat benches and I watched for a while wondering who the culprit was. Turns out it was the old fuker using another flat bench right next to the one he put all the plates on. I was like wtf he made it unusable for anyone else to use the bench.
