I don't think people from small countries understand how vast the US is. Not just in size, but environments/climates and natural beauty.

Just because you may live in a place that is cold/tropical year round doesn't mean this giant country is the same. Nice pics OP, I'm gonna steal them and use them to troll in cell phone discussion threads.

So take a Thursday-Friday off? What about long flight times that could eat your day? It would make sense to leave Wednesday evening after work.

Depends on what lens you go with initially as thats what makes the biggest difference. XT3 just came out so look at an XT20 or XT2 plus a solid lens (23mm may be a good starting lens)

This, US has such an insane diverse landscape its like being on a different planet being in the Utah desert, then going to Hoh Rainforest in Washington, etc. California alone you have desert, snowy mountains, epic beaches, alpine lakes, etc.

Yeah it really depends on your destination too. Anywhere domestic should be fine but if you're looking international you really have to do longer, but I recommend exploring the national parks and forests, etc all of which should be a 3-5 hour flight from anywhere in the country.

My gf thinks she is ‘well traveled’ because she went to Cancun twice lol

Every year I like to do a fly fishing trip somewhere new. I’m going to Pulaski, NY salmon fishing and goose hunting for 4 days in October. Not a huge trip but with my other mini fly fishing trips, OBX, Philly, NYC and casino trips it added up to a lot of time on the road for me this year.

Nice photos OP. I agree there is so much in N. America to see and experience, most plebs think you need to leave the country to experience something amazing.

Thanks! Yes I shoot raw and then use Lightroom. Learned from playing around with it combined with Youtube vids over the years. Almost exclusively use lightroom mobile these days as it can do basically everything that the desktop version can is you have a creative cloud subscription, its a very powerful tool to have in your pocket.

For another international travel destination, go to South Africa. Specifically Cape Town and the western cape. Incredible scenery, dirt cheap once you get there, and beautiful people.

My wife and I’s next trip is probably somewhere in the US as we want to pay off some debt before a Big abroad trip, we usually go for 1-4 weeks at a time so we can just experience the culture of wherever we go. I really want to check out Utah. Might get sent to Hawaii next year for a work trip so that might end up coming first.

Yeah, Alaska is on definitely on my list. My dad and I are probably going to do that to celebrate his retirement in 5-10 years (whenever he decides he wants to). It’s definitely his number one location to fish that he hasn’t been.

Hate to say it, but the Caribbean and Dominica is played out in a while. Cool places, but once it becomes mainstream does it really count as traveling? I know I sound ignorant as I've never traveled before, but I'm the type to go off trail and out of the tourist locations.

Will definitely go to Dominica someday though. I wonder how's the weather and beach.

Thanks for the tip, have heard the same about Cape Town. If you ever need tips on places like Utah I am happy to make suggestions too. Utah is 10/10. Definitely stay in Moab for a bit and see Arches, Canyonland, Dead Horse, etc. You can see the Milky Way crystal clear out there, its mind blowing.

Alright, story time


Had seen a waterfall posted on IG a couple of times but nobody will ever share the location. Did hella research in the Gifford Pinchot national forest area and found one old school obscure blog that talked about this place, and had a shtty map. Was in the PNW about 4 months ago and drove through the forest checking out random waterfalls, but this was the main one I cared to see. It is unmarked and almost nobody knows about it.



Drove to where it supposedly starts, got out, then spent 2 hours searching for the "trail head" which was nothing more than a break in the treeline. Looked all over and eventually gave up with the intention of finding it next time.

Was back last month and had studied the map more and we thought we figured it out. This time within 30 minutes my girl and I found the entrance and followed the sound of flowing water all the way down - keep in mind its not a maintained trail and very few people go down here or even know it exists, so it was a fun time trying to tumble down this steep sht.

Eventually we got down to the bottom and see the falls and it is one of the coolest things I have seen, by far. It is absolutely huge and crazy loud. If you have ever seen A Quiet Place and how they scream under the waterfalls, its like that but even more so. The water was flowing hard down the river and freezing cold but had to walk through it and get jeans/shoes wet. Get to the other side and we both got naked sicne we were basically guaranteed privacy. Took some cheeky naked shots from behind for the lulz. Fukked like rabbits being as loud as possible and enjoying the scenery, then got dressed and took more pics, got some drone shots, and then just climbed around and enjoyed the solitude for a while.

Was crazy to have that kind of solitude/privacy in a beautiful spot, most everything worth seeing is overran by people. There are some more hidden waterfalls you have to use rope to get to that I intend to start finding next time, can't wait.

Horseshoe Bend/Antelope Canyon, both in Page, AZ (Kayak Lake Powell while you're there)
Arches is my fav national park, but Moab in general has amazing scenery - Dead Horse Point for stargazing. Wilson Arch is right outside of Moab cool, neat to see.
The pacific coastal highway of course, and I am most fond the Oregon portion - Sam H Boardman Scenic Corridor, then sea lion caves/heceta head lighthouse.
Eagle Creek in Oregon along the Columbia River Gorge - easily see like 20 waterfalls, Multnomah being one of them
For beaches nothing beats emerald coast (Destin is the best spot). That white sand though, plus you can swim in it
Rocky Mountain National Park has a ton of easily accessible lakes plus one of the best drives in the country
The enchantments/entire alpine lakes wilderness
Lake 22 in Washington has been one of my fav hikes, you start out decently warm and dry then end up at an alpine lake covered in snow
Sedona is awesome for desert scenery and hiking
