Frame size has NOTHING to do with height. There is no correlation, yet I see this error being made over and over again.

even with piss poor genetics...you can get 225 for at least 1

i'm tall, have awful pushing mechanics, long limbs, narrow frame, tiny wrists etc. if i can manage to rep 225 then most other lifters should be able too. Just a matter of time and actually lifting with a proper program in place.

Zero correlation. Zilch.

Smaller bones = smaller frame = less meat to go on those bones, both fat and muscle.

just depends. how big is the person? how active is the person? what is the persons weight? freshmen year of highschool i benched 160lb for 1 rep at 110lbs. i was very active though, and did martial arts for over a decade and push ups were routine. i think it took me 2 years to finally hit 2 plates. not bad for that size/weight/age but i had friends significantly stronger. i also had a fat friend. never worked out. was just a big fat mfker. i told him he had potential bc of his forearm and calf size. we went to the gym to see his strength. he could do 405 for reps on bench we were still in highschool. after nearly 18 years of committing myself to weight training, my max is only 385lb for 1 rep @200lb manlet status. fml. it is what it is.

The number 1 factor that predicts strength is muscle mass per unit height. All the twinks need to start eating and put on real mass. Your ancient ancestors would disown you pu$$sies if they saw you today.

Most guys could reach it with proper training, but there's some guys who are super short and have ****ty strength genetics. There's also people with insanely long arms who could probably never bench it (but could probably deadlift a lot)

fml got bench leverage of piss and prosperity. Usually have to go with ring finger on the barbell olympic rings for best performance, anything closer quickly becomes too narrow.

One rep should definitely be easily atainable for most. For easy reps, not so much.

I strongly believe a 225 bench press will remain out of reach for many men regardless of whether they workout or not.

Of course, someone who weighs 315, and doesn't workout, will be able to bench this I'm sure. The same can't be said for a moderately fit/ trained bro weighing 185.

Teenagers here have no idea just how heavy a 225 bench press here.

Taller guys are stretched out. Obviously we look like we have very long limbs (strong no homo), because we are tall. However, stand next to manlet, and the size difference is apparent. Wrist size has little correlation to height IMO though. Manlets simply have a higher correlation of Bull Dog-like builds. I've also seen tall guys with these builds, and they are referred to as Bears.

All comes down to work ethic. I am 5’9 natty 180 pounds and been lifting since 2011. I just benched 270 this week as my max. Nearly 1.5x bodyweight. I guess that’s good. I’m aiming for 315 and I’m confident I can eventually get that as long as I’m consistent and don’t get injured

Probably atleast 99% of men who train and eat to get a strong bench press can get to 225 natty.

Probably closer to 99.9% honestly. However, for people who don't train or lift weights, I'd say less than 1% could put up 225. The ones that could bench 225 without training are probably fat as hell

yea that's long arms for sure. You might wanna check out Chad Wesley Smith's bench videos it's five videos long but he covers several key parts on benching which helped me big time.

Chad Wesley Smith is a championship strongman and well in the 2000lb club. He coaches alot of successful powerlifters including the women's 52kg world champ

Most men can't reach 225. Most men are shorter than 5'9" too.

Interestingly, I am stronger on DB bench presses than BB bench presses. Any bro science behind this?

Confused on the question.

Are you saying you can DB press 115 in each hand and can't BB press 225?

Can barely hit 185 or so for 1 rep. Even 1 plate struggle with good form and feeling comfortable. Meanwhile squat 3 plates for 2 reps easy, good form and deadlift 4 easy with good form. Not sure why my ratios are so off but its annoying. I just cant get comfortable on a bench, even after some coaching. Just hate it.
