While I'm not invested myself, it was at least well produced in stark contrast to, well, "Netflix Originals" as a whole.

If they don't announce a cancellation soon enough for the other Marvel show(s) (Jessica Jones?) left, that will really take the piss, though.

I actually enjoyed Altered Carbon some of the most of Netflix's originals, but then someone here awared me on the book version, I looked up the differences, and *wham*
Every. Single. Problem. With the show was - you can probably guess it - something they changed from the books! It was almost jarring because of how point by point the comparison read like a list of changes that would have fixed the show.

That said, I remember reading how they cast (I think) the guy from the Avengers who had the metal wings/jetpack thing. I guess every season they were going to switch to a different sleeve/actor, but I would hope they at least bring back the "original" Kovac or it will probably feel like a soft-reboot or random offshoot instead of a direct continuation.

Stranger Things is probably going to be driven into the dirt at this rate considering that it's basicallytheNetflix show now that everything else has gone to hell. Personally, I found that in retrospect it was Hopper and the adult side of the first season that drew me in, but it deviated so greatly from that shortly after, leaving me with just the kids. Second season seemed like they were fixing for a spin-off with the "sister" and discount Marvel outcasts, but I'd be more surprised if that took off given how mediocre that entire episode was out of the blue. The best part (to me) was the opening theme song, and I love theideasteased at with this otherwordly, potentially eldritch horror looming in an interconnected dimension, but the latter really falls flat with everything toned down to be so PG (and god I bloody don't like kids). My main concern would be for them to run this one into the ground as well.

Frankenstein Chronicles was also pretty good, although it feltverydisjointed at Season 2 because they forced Sean Bean's partner into randomly falling madly in love with this chickthey just bloody introducedthat in turn forces the entire, ensuing tension and pissiness that gets grating. For an interesting, dark drama, it delves far too into the typical sitcom/rom-com trope of, "everyone gets pissy because they won't just stop for 2 minutes to explain things."

I simply lost all confidence in Netflix's ability to maintain an even halfway decent library of content since their dramatic shift to Netflix Originals above everything else when their strategy was tantamount to slinging sh*t at a fan. They're stretched so thin that anything with remotely positive prospects gets left on this indefinite hiatus with only whispers of whether or not it will get another season while the mounds of absolute rubbish continue to accumulate and overflow their selection.
Another two reasons why I cancelled Netflix.
1) They cancel shows so frequently that instead of a fleshed out library, they have a bunch of slap-dash experiments that could have collectively gone towards funding something substantial, well made, and comes to an actual conclusion.
2) Flooding their library with insufferable, interchangeable stand up comedians and enough Indian/South Korean shows to make you think that Netflix accidentally switched to a server across the damn globe.

They're at the point where they could throw on add-on subscriptions for Bollywood, South Korea, Spanish, et al niche sections that end up cluttering the options. I spent more time trying to giving a thumbs down to content so itwouldn'tclutter my selections than actually watching anything at one point, and when everything else was slowly becoming Netflix Originals of remarkably low quality, I said, "screw it," and cancelled without looking back.
The problem I find with Netflix Originals is that the quality decreases dramatically after the first season. Narcos, Peaky Blinders, House of Cards, Stranger Things, Mindhunter, Daredevil, the OA, Dark. All of these shows had pretty damn good first seasons, but out of that list, granted some of them only have 1 season so far, most really fell through after s1, or they've had seasons that are so bad you really can't be sure if you're watching the same show.

But I don't really have a problem with them switching to Originals over a library as that's why I subscribed in the first place. I do get why people would be upset as Netflix's original platform heavily revolved around a library of streamable movies. If I subscribed for the library and Netflix continued to shrink it, I would probably unsub too.

Btw, I don't think Frankenstein Chronicles was a Netflix Original. Pretty sure it was a British show before Netflix picked it up. Could be why S2 was bad.

Peaky blinders is not a netflix original, the first season and maybe the second was on British TV sometime before netflix picked it up. Originally it is a BBC show.

There are 3 options:

1. They bring it to the new streaming service, but neuter it as PG13
2. It goes to Hulu as Disney has said anything too dark will be shown on that service
3. They can it all together.

season 2 and 3 was pretty good imo. kingpin was better in season 3 than in season 1, and bullseye was a greaat villain. i hope its only cancelled on netflix because disney streaming will pick it up. daredevil is definitely the best out of all of the defenders; ironfist sucked balls and i'm glad they cancelled it.

It'll likely get cancelled as well. Each of the Marvel shows were cancelled shortly after their latest season. Iron Fist (which is chit anyways), Luke Cage, and then Daredevil. Jessica Jones and Punisher will likely get cancelled right after their next seasons as well.

I tried several times but couldn't get into Daredevil. I just found myself searching for the Punisher scenes.

I didn't find the acting very convincing, just my opinion.

I didn't like it.

I thought it was one of those "slow shows" that Lost made popular. It's where everything happens at a slow pace to drag out the plot.

If superheroes were real, I doubt they'd be these quiet people going about things at a snails pace.

Imagine, you're a person with super powers, you decide to dress up in a disguise, and hunt criminals through the streets. You'd be one unique person!

Writing must reflect it.

I'd be like Superman if superheroes were real, and I had superpowers.

It would all depend on the person and what powers they had.

Whatever the case, Kick Ass is a good example. Everyone had extreme views and opinions, which would have to be the case. The Marvel shows on Netflix have very quiet characters and I find them boring.

Yeah felt slow and I don't even like the Daredevil character.

Part of that is Ben Affleck's fault, srs. No politics - I just hated Daredevil 2003.

Both are boring actors.

Daredevil is a blind acrobat with sonar powers. Do either actor seem like that kind of guy?

Affleck is Batman, a seething, genius, paranoid, massively driven ninja, acrobat, superhero. Does he seem like that?

No.

I don't get casting people without energy into these roles.

It would all depend on the person and what powers they had.

Whatever the case, Kick Ass is a good example. Everyone had extreme views and opinions, which would have to be the case. The Marvel shows on Netflix have very quiet characters and I find them boring.
I rather be a hitman like John Wick than a superhero as both being a hitman and vigilantism are crimes but at least being a hitman you get paid but if I were a vigilante and wanted powers, I would want powers like Dante from Devil May Cry.

That's cool, just don't be boring if you get those powers!
