The saddest and most important things are that which money cannot buy.

You can't do anything if your mom or dad didn't love you. You can't create friends if you're a unique person with no one to relate too, and stuff like that.

You might be rich because you make popular shoes or can sing, but maybe you wish you were a doctor, but you can't do that. So, you're hopeless about the future.

People want to die because they have no support and believe they have nothing to live for. So, as long as you believe that for some reason, you will not want to live.

it's pretty hard to explain but, even though I've had enough money to buy almost anything I've ever wanted from a lambo to a house to all the substances ....

money will never and cannot buy happiness through relationships...

it gets lonely at the top brah (srs) cannot find anyone that actually loves you for you they only want the fame and or finanical status that you have they dont want anything to do withyou

thread has to many feels

People chase things they think will make them happy or do things because they think they should from external pressures. A tragic case study for this was Avicii, brah had everything most people strive for and it destroyed him.

You likely know this already but I want to make a point that that is situational depression rather than srs clinical depression. Feeling chitty about a chitty situation is normal and help makes let you know stuff is wrong and to change things (or try to).

this is where peterson stops the buck for example. hes right to an extent, how you need to fill gaps in your life. like a relationship, good job, etc.

Fine. But he on purpose leaves out God.

There is a God-shaped hole in every man's heart. Strap yourselves in cos its only gonna get worse but

I have depression even though from a objective point of view I have it ridiculously good. It all comes from having a ****ty childhood and never feeling enough. Childhood is the foundation of your life.

The worst part is the vast majority of the world can’t possibly understand because they’ve never been put in such a position which makes you feel even further removed from society. Often at this point people develop addictions to sustain an artificial happiness if even for a short time but this behavior isn’t feasible and eventually leads to a breakdown of one kind or another.

I’ve just described myself, but I got the addictions whipped and fill all the other voids in my life with work and/or self improvement. I live a life most would kill to have but I have no doubt that someday (not anytime soon) I will die by my own hand as I don’t have what it takes to grow old and worthless to society and I don’t believe anything else is capable of killing me outside of a freak accident of sorts.
i recommend you seek to understand why this is all happening, which is what ive been doing recently. so look into stuff about the modern world, modern spirit, religion, etc. i would be very depressed if i hadnt gone down the rabbit hole

Lets say you're poor, you aren't happy but you know if you keep working hard you'll have something. That goal keeps you driven. One day, your ship comes in so to speak, don't care if you just get successful, win the lottery, inheritance, ect, the point is now you have everything you've ever wanted. You go to bed in your mansion and lie on the top of the line mattress and you still can't sleep because when it all comes down to it, you're the same unhappy person and all that you thought would fix it doesn't. Now what? There is no escape. No goal, you have everything and still have nothing. What do?

Sometimes its having too much. If you have too much life is like a game you played too much with the cheats on. Its no fun and no challenge only these cheats you can't turn off.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.

that just sounds like a terrible mindset lol. but yeah that person would probably kill himself. personally I would never get to that point where I would just stop wanting. if I had money it'd be endless possibilities for me.

i think this is why people have to see the world and experience different cultures. i think a person that thinks like that has no idea that there is more to life than just their home or material possessions.
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

Not meaning to sound like a dick, which is an easy thing to do when typing online rather than talking in person, but I've researched the things you speak of by the thousands of hours. You're absolutely right with your recommendations however as it helped me a great deal.

Very interesting read, as someone trying to conquer my own mental health issues. I'm confident that 2019 will be a comeback year for me.

I never knew about Tyson Fury's story and bttle with drugs/alcohol/depression. The JRE clip was eye-opening to me, big time.

I don't understand, if celebs/rich people are tired of being hounded by paps and people who just want to use them for money, why not just move to some random country and start all over? New opportunity, no one will really know you and you'd have the resources to do what you want and be successful. If you have tons of money but still can't enjoy life or find anyone who likes you, then maybe you're better off just offing yourself, srs.

Yea agreed. My parents divorced and I was raised by a single mom who was very introverted and not super affectionate. I went years without seeing my father. I feel that this affected my relationships as an adult and made it subconsciously difficult for me to open up/be intimate with past girlfriends. It’s something I’m looking to work on for future relationships

Most people are attached to their persona. Who they think they are is comforting to them... but also becomes their achilles heel. They can't just get up and walk away from their problems because then they wouldn't have reason to suffer anymore.

"Pain is a relatively objective, physical phenomenon; suffering is our psychological resistance to what happens. Events may create physical pain, but they do not in themselves create suffering. Resistance creates suffering. Stress happens when your mind resists what is... The only problem in your life is your mind's resistance to life as it unfolds.” - Dan Millman

For me, happiness is temporary. I dont think its possible to feel euphoric/over the moon every single hour of every single day. Happiness comes in peaks.

And if you WERE happy all the time, is that happiness? Or is that just your plateau state of mind?

Dan bilzerian summed it up well in an interview. He said if you took an 18 year old college student and stuck them in a 5* hotel in LA all expenses paid, they'd be super happy. But if you put him there, he would be unhappy - because the quality of life would be worse than what his norm is (e.g. HBB running around naked, celebrity chefs living in house cooking for you etc).

Since it was more well known knowledge amongst friends/family that I started makinggoodmoney, bitchiness / saltiness has expotentially increased. It has caused a massive divide in my family. Expecting handouts, not allowed to talk about business/work/holidays/any new cars im buying infront of my sister incase she gets upset (peasant crew) etc.

Some friends have got chittier too, expecting handouts, or expecting me to pay for bills in restaurants, bars etc. Friends/family become MUCH less generous and rarely give you gifts etc..

The cause of most of my anxiety/stress/light depression comes from things within my relationships to family/wife. I also get stressed like fuk with business as its my own company and I have to make sure im always on track, paying the right amount in taxes, things going wrong with my cars, or just out of boredom from having too much free-time.

People have no clue what severe anxiety and depression can do to someone. I developed crippling anxiety at age 30 when I went into recovery for an unnamed behavior and without medication and therapy I have crazy racing thoughts, chest pain, stomach pain, burning skin like I have the flu, hot and cold flashes, feeling of choking, and dizziness. I still get this if I forget to take my medication, or if the Dr. tries to wean me off of it because of the DEA rules, etc.

Just think of living like that 24/7 and you can see why someone can have everything but be in complete and utter hell can't live like that. The only thing that got me through that was perseverance and faith, but it lurks around every corner as sometimes the medication can't hold it if my life gets too stressful, and the symptoms return.

I think that the human brain is just remarkably able to adapt to almost any situation be it good or bad. I think there’s only so much dopamine that can be released that it gets to a point where your mind just simply gets used to it. I think it’s why celebrities turn to drugs. They keep trying to top each natural high that they get from general life successes to the point where they hit a wall. And some drugs, especially uppers, are a readily available way for them to achieve that.

Dan Bilzerian talked about this on Joe Rogan’s podcast and it was really interesting.
