If I could give you a hug right now, I would. Thank you for sharing with us so we could be there with you--I hope you're sharing just as much with the people physically close to you as well because I think the hardest thing would be trying to go through this alone. Really use the supports you have as you navigate your way through this.
Altough they arent doing it from a bad place, currently the support from my family and friends is frustrating as they think im not as bad as i make out. I do have a history of anxiety, but i know this is something far worse. Feel exhausted and ive only been awake enough to walk around town.

did sleep for a bit in the end. I feel actually more exhausted and tired than i felt earlier and feel quite breathless. However, im honestly im really scared as i looked at my tongue first time since i last had a good look 2 days ago. Well from what i can see on the side of my tongue that looked normal the same indentation thats on the bad looking side is starting to appear, which would suggest it is muscle wasting and not just the way my tongue looks

Sorry to hear OP

Nothing I can really say to make you feel better

But remember the diagnosis is not official yet, so don't assume the worst yet.

Theres still a chance it could be something reversible

Keep in mind many tongues have dents on them on the sides from where your teeth constantly rest on it.

Good god i'm declining pretty rapidly if i'm honest misc. i tried to go for a jog, couldnt make 200m without stopping as i was so out of breath. Im breathing deeply at rest now. Since i last looked my other side of my tongue has started to change as well, its definately got indentations like the side where it wasnt so obvious. Aside from this, im struggling to keep my head up, my necks in the left side have weakened so much its a struggle. I know this is no chance of being anxiety now. Whatever it is, it must be pretty damn serious

Brah. It sounds like anxiety. You are not going to deteriorate that badly over 24hrs. I convinced myself I had cancer because I could poop and was bleeding from my ass. Turned out my thyroid was jacked up and had me severely constipated and caused bleeding hemorrhoids from all the straining and pushing.

Could be something brah but most likely not ALS

I want to believe you man but seriously i can feel something is very very wrong. Im anxious, but im anxious because of these symptoms, not the symptoms are caused by anxiety. I can still walk, talk and use my hands and arms but i can feel the weakness setting in, day by day.

OP you need to realize your mind is very powerful and can make you think something is wrong when you are totally fine.

A couple years ago I wasn't able to move my foot up. I could push it down, but couldn't move it up. Went to the doc thinking it was just some muscle but he was concerned and made an appointment for me to get a brain scan. It was then and there that I got scared ****less. I asked him what he thought it was and he said multiple sclerosis.

I went home pacing around terrified at the prospect of having a neurodegenerative disorder. So I sat down, looked at my foot, and was able to push it all the way up. Just like that. It was the craziest ****ing thing I've ever experienced. For months I couldn't move my foot up, then at one point I just...did it. My mind was just ****ing with me.

Went to get the brain scan and everything turned out fine.

Hoping your situation is similar to mine.

Op. You need to get out and live your life. Unless you have some actual diagnoses from a real doctor, this **** is most likely in your head.

GET OFF GOOGLE

Break this chain of anxious/OCD thoughts. Just ignore them and live your life

Claiming it's anxiety does not mean they claim it's in your head. Stress and anxiety can have VERY physical and real effects. Can affect pretty much every part of you, from brain, gut, pain and nervous system.

Not gonna rant but have been through something similar two years ago.

In the mean time you're better off reading about the nocebo effect

As I said OP they thought I had ALS when I was 40.

I have a much milder disease. But I get tired easy. My writing has gotten worse. Lifting is harder.

Do you have fasiculation? Here is my calve on a mild day. My whole body does this. Scalp. Inside my ears, my eyes.

But most people don't notice.

I have fasiculation yes all over as well. however, how about your tongue? I get them there too. Mine is changing shape as well, as is my speech. I'm also very breathless, and breathing heavier more than usual.

Leo Get those moles checked brah

OP I know it’s hard but please just take some time out to relax...the odds are overwhelmingly in your favour that it is nothing to worry about. As mentioned, anxiety can manifest itself in many if not all the symptoms you describe. All the best brother and keep us updated!

Hey OP, I thought I had ALS couple of years ago. Started getting muscle twitches everywhere, loss of balance, speech changes and I thought all was over. After an MRI and CT scan, everything came out negative. Neurologist said it was anxiety. I felt relieved but still thought “maybe he didn’t get the right results or whatever”. Few months later I end up at the hospital because I feel my entire body numbing, and I felt like I was about drop.

I got the same answer. Anxiety. I then decided to live with it. 3 years later, I still get muscle twitches and the other issues I mentioned before. I just suck it up.

I noticed that the More i worry, the more these symptoms flare up. Right now I have strong brain fog, which makes things somewhat difficult. However, I’m beginning to train my mind to be positive in everything. The mind is strong and you got to get control of it. Don’t let anxiety win.

Good luck OP, I’ll pray that you come out ahead.

Also don’t you dare look up online your symptoms OP, I did that and it just made everything worse. I went downhill for like 2-3 months.

Have you tried changing your nutrition? That's one of the first things I would try. We know fuk all about how different nutrients affect our bodies since everyone is different. Would go from fasting to keto to vegan to high fat etc. I like testing different strategies out on the body and you never know what might work.

I eat like sh*t, I know if I changed it I would see a big difference. I plan to finally get that done this year, along with hitting the gym. With full time job and school, it makes it difficult to change your lifestyle.
