I watched it for about a minute until he calmly asked the guy for his name and he was like, "Well why do I even have to answer?" and I decided that getting tazed 11 times in the balls was justified.

Next question.

they shouldn't target people by looks but thats part of the job
After searching a little I think this post probably sums it up. It looks like the guy has had some prior burglary and drug charges, and maybe the cops saw a drug transaction prior or something. The left turn signal was just their "reason" for pulling them over. Maybe the cops have run into him on street before. None of that makes it right with the force, but thats probably how this all transpired. Who knows though. It would be strange that they randomly saw this car commit a traffic violation that happened to have meth in it.

Why ask for ID if they knew who he was?

If they saw a drug deal happen they would have no need to use the left turn signal as an excuse for interaction.

I don't mean that they know him by name, but that they recognize him from any of his priors, and then targeted him. He has 20 entries in the AZ Public Access to Court Website so there is a chance they encountered him in the past and targeted him.

It's unfortunate that people will have a tainted view of ALL police officers because of this one bad apple.

My girlfriend is a police officer and it sucks seeing how many people look at you dirty and have so much hate because of incidents like these. I never realized how tough the job was until I did a ride along and saw first hand.

Even if there was more to the story, this guy just needs to get forced out of the force. Just a person who shouldn't have become a police officer to begin with.

I can't comment on the turn signal thing because I have no idea.

But it's very strange to me how people can watch that video and decide the police were 100% at fault.

The guy's wife and kids are in the car and he decides to:

1. Argue with the police
2. Refuse to produce his identification
3. Refuse to identify himself even verbally
4. Physically resist being pulled out of the car
5. Probably hiding things in his bag or between seats as the officer stated

So what do you expect a police officer to do? Just say "Oh ok, nevermind then, you really didn't have to comply."

What if those kids were killed in a drug purchase later on that afternoon and these cops hadn't one their due diligence? All of you cop haters would have been calling for their badges for not doing their jobs and investigating this person who is clearly acting suspiciously.

You want to know the one thing that would have prevented the whole thing from happening? If the guy had just complied like a normal fuking person.

It seems to me that most of the people arguing against the police officers here are showing that they have a strong bias from the jump by calling them pigs, etc.

He didn't argue, he was respectful in his answers and was questioning why he had to ID himself as he was a passenger and it was apparently a traffic stop.

He also didn't physically resist being pulled out the car he was wrapped up in the seat belt.

What indicates he was hiding stuff in the seats?

While I agree that he could've handled the situation better than he did, none of that justifies or vindicates the actions of that sociopath scumbag officer.

He didn't argue lol wut? And did you not see him pick up some sort of backpack thing and have his hands in and out of it a bunch before the officer told him to stop (mostly while the officer walked toward the back of the car to radio in the back passengers ID # or whatever), and kept turning to the left/side/looking down between the seats doing the old "I've got a bunch of stuff in my hand (looks like some money in the left hand, a soda in the right hand at some point) so I'm busy moving clutter and various objects around the front of the car while the officers talking to me and I'm facing away organizing all this chit in the center console" routine lol c'mon dude, just stop

If the dude didn't want to get pulled out he sure as hell went about it in the worst way possible: to do the upset, guilty guy "why me i didnt do anything" routine. Guy was froggy, jittery, suspicious, confrontational, etc from the start...

Like the guy you quoted said: what's the cop supposed to say to Mr. tattoo'd up skinny pill head? Oh ok sir, sorry for bothering... then later that week that same guy gets arrested for burglary, assault, whatever, the same *******s complaining about cops forcing him to identify himself are the same ones that would chit all over the cops for letting them go after they had him pulled over... I can see the thread now: "Cops have future double murder suspect pulled over, let him go when he refuses to give ID"

Excessive force? Sure. But when dealing with cops just identify yourself if you have nothing to hide... that first taze was absolutely justified, dude had his entire left arm tucked inside his abdomen, that's a good way to get SHOT by a fukn cop let alone tazed

Full bodycam video

LMAO at everyone jumping to bash the cops without seeing the full video.

DUDE WAS REACHING INTO/AROUND A BAG
DUDE RESISTED EVEN WHEN COP WAS CALM AND GAVE PLENTY OF WARNINGS
FAT KUNT IN THE BACK SWUNG A BAG FULL OF BOTTLED DRINKS AND HIT THE OTHER OFFICER IN THE HEAD
METH FOUND IN THE CAR

The cop was a overzealous with the taser after handcuffing though and that chit is inexcusable
Both sides are at fault honestly but people need to see all of the evidence before we jump to believing whatever the media presents

Why not just give him the ID? if youre clean, then why start fighting against it? it will be over much easier and much faster if you just comply with that simple request
of course that wouldnt work if youre a criminal/hiding something and youre trying to evade and dodge

Also ive watched all the episodes of TV show Cops recently, and starting to fumble with the bag is a good way to end up on cops bad side, how should a cop know whether there is a weapon, drug or whatever?

So that justifies the cop pulling dude’s pants down and tasering him in the balls?

Nothing in the world would justify that sort of behavior by a cop. Not one thing.

Yea people, unfortunately lots here on the misc too, just see the part the news tells them....

and LOL at bleeding heart morons watching that ****gy little news production showing how the cops came in from a certain angle and they didn't have a clear line of sight to see a failed turn signal from the vehicle going in to the lot on the other side.... The officers, being from that area and knowing almost all of the citizens from that area, know the occupants of the car are all offenders and are probably holding, so lo and behold they pull them over, politely ask for ID, and the passenger basically hands the cops the right to search them on a platter by refusing to identify himself and arguing, then they taze the dumb meth head and find meth... They should have just shot the poor bastard and send the kids to foster homes, unfortunately the kids now will grow up hating cops and smoking meth just like their junkie parents

100% justified, good job cops, next

Yea your right... that cop should have to take a minimum of 1 hours of sensitivity training after work next tuesday and tell him not to do it again

But seriously the pricks in this car are riding around with meth and children and you're worried about his NUTS? The guy smokes/injects meth and you're worried about his fragile ballsack???

Was there probable cause to remove him from the car ? No

Is he required to give ID if he's a passenger ? An article I read said no

The cop was using a blatant abuse of authority saying he would be arrested and finger printed when no crime had been committed and then they proceed to assault him . I'm not a cop hater by any means and I understand what they do is a tough job and that generally they are all decent people trying to make a living but this was an instance of a cop abusing his authority.

Also according to this article there is no way the officer could have even seen the car pull in so the traffic stop alone was unjustified

I blame SCOTUS for rubber stamping pretextual stops, bogus investigatory detentions, ID'ing passengers as a matter of course, and for deferring to basically every officer's use of force under almost every circumstance, including violations of state law, training, and department policy, and even including constitutional violations that aren't "clearly established."

Congress said long ago that these idiots should be individually liable for rights violations. SCOTUS has legislated from the bench to manufacture a qualified immunity defense for law enforcement that conflicts with a duly enacted federal statute.

This is the result

Regardless of what he did, the cop had no excuse for how he handled the situation. It was beyond unprofessional.

The cop clearly has issues with remaining unemotional and does not belong on a police force anywhere. He’s exactly the type that will shoot someone very soon in the near future because he wanted to act like Rambo. Fuk him.
