Is "Asperger's Syndrome" the most overdiagnosed condition of all time?

It is a weird condition and makes a person largely unable to function.
Also, the main feature of autistic people and the personality disorder that's like it, Schizoid Personality Disorder, is pathological introversion. With autism it's a physical inability to be normally interactive. With personality disorders its social forces that made the person totally discouraged from interacting with others so they become extremely withdrawn and isolated.
No, not all autistic people are introverted. Now the majority may be and some may have developed a schizoid coping style due to difficulty interacting with other people, or a personal history of bullying or abuse. Others may just prefer to be alone a lot because it is less stressful.I've actually personally known a couple of girls diagnosed with autism that were very outgoing - maybe even dangerously so because they extended physical affection seemingly to everyone (talking little girls hugging here misc).
https://researchautism.org/but-shes-...utistic-wrong/
So, whether it's true autism or a personality disorder, these people do not know they have it. They aren't interested in knowing, or can't, because they can't get the concept they're autistic. Retarded people don't know they're stupid and autistic people don't know they are either.
If you tell them they are and what they're missing, they will not understand. They will not post on forums or talk about it because they aren't interested. Depressed people don't understand happy, anxious don't understand calm, and so forth, but something like autism is a million times more intense.
Um, okay. So you believe that autism is synonymous with stupidity then? Intelligence levels actually range from low to high AFAIK. And there are actually support groups and forums for autists. It isn't like insanity (if you think you are crazy then you probably aren't). Unless autism is accompanied by mental deficiency it is very normal for someone to notice that they struggle, seem to get things wrong, and don't fit in.If you tell them they are and what they're missing, they will not understand. They will not post on forums or talk about it because they aren't interested. Depressed people don't understand happy, anxious don't understand calm, and so forth, but something like autism is a million times more intense.
Diagnosis:
In psych you aren't supposed to just "diagnose" someone but do "differential diagnosis" which means comparing similar diagnosis, and NORMAL BEHAVIOR, to make sure you give the right diagnosis. You want to "do no harm" and make sure you don't tell someone they're mentally ill if they aren't.
If anyone is on a forum like this, or in public, talking about how they have autism they probably don't. They probably have normal minds and suffer from poor socialization due to incompetent parents, they may not be good looking and so shunned by others, which creates a Schizoid personality, they may have grown up rurally, been a latch key kid, and so on.
All of that are a bunch of normal variants in how people develop.
Sure, if someone is questioning the possibility that they may have autism or ADD then they may be well served by getting a professional diagnosis. At least for ADD as there are medications for that. There really isn't a medication for ASD, though there may be something for likely comorbidities. In psych you aren't supposed to just "diagnose" someone but do "differential diagnosis" which means comparing similar diagnosis, and NORMAL BEHAVIOR, to make sure you give the right diagnosis. For someone who claims to be in mental health you seem to have a lot of hostility and contempt for the people that need those types of services.

Aspergers seems to fit the bill but not clinically it seems.
I dont believe dysfunctional and problematic behaviour consistent with autism and or personality disorders are 100 % socialisation if the individual is unaware that something is wrong. Like i said i was unaware for many years of how different i was. My siblings dont have the same problems i have yet they had the same upbringings. For as long as i can remember i have had the same problems. There is a strong family history of autism and mental illness from my mothers side which involves government pensions and carers. Just a coincidence?
Depressed and anxious people often understand being happy and calm otherwise why would they complain? They might not know how to feel better as they cant rationalize their way out of it, but they do recognise the problem very well even if they cant relate to being happy an calm at that very moment in time.

Autism/aspergers/ all spectrum disorders exist but are very overdiagnosed IMO. Often time the kid being diagnosed will have awkward parents or were raised by generally awkward people. Mental health and the development and treatment of the brain are two things that arent widely understood yet unfortunately and ive noticed a 'lot of learned behavior in people who are "on the spectrum."
Being diagnosed with something often times turns into reaffirming behavior and normal people live their life thinking they have something that they dont. Real shame that instead of looking at root cause or doing research on serious subjects, like the large jump in suicide over the last ten years, or the opiate epidemic, drs look for patterns to reaffirm what is in my opinion a wrong idea or the result of another issue.
I was listening to talk radio in canada and they had a group of doctors calling adhd the largest current health risk in canada. Saying that it was worse than smoking for taking years off your life and saying that they needed more drugs, more treatment, more attention and more money for research.
For any brahs who are interested in why prescription drug abuse and pill use sky rocketed in the US look up how pharmaceutical drug company reps are paid. Any developmental disorder is a cash cow for drs and drug companies

If we pathologise normal human variability this keeps a lot of doctors and therapists busy, but it doesn't necessarily help people.

You are using a reductionist approach to the complexity of the human organism. Humans are not a electronic circuits where you can reduce everything down to definite laws. Yes, there is the real deal extreme variations from normal behavior but there are are the in between grey areas which is also problematic. Is there no room for sub clinical diagnoses in your practice?
So what if they are a shadow of clinical autism, shy people etc does that mean they just need to pull there bootstraps up?

Yeah I think a lot of it has to do with people not being socialized because everyone is isolating themselves now days. Think about if you never socialize a dog... it doesn't get along with other dogs. If you don't socialize a human they will be awkward as phuck. A lot of it comes from weak parents who let their kids run the show.

Person just comes in and says they're depressed.
Also IMO if we wanna legitimize them then it would also make sense to look at how diet factors in.
I'd bet a lot of money that most people with depression also have terrible diets, they go hand in hand.
Sure you'd still have odd
ball outliers with actual chemical imbalances, but I'd wager that they represent a very small fraction of those diagnosed.

Genetics influence neurological development though, so basically thereโs zero chance thereโs no correlation between genetics and depression.

Most of those celebrities posted arent aspie.
No way:
Trump/Putin - charismatic
Bill Gates - No, seen him talk on stage, just a nerd, not aspie
Einstein - no, he was a womanizer
robin williams - no, none of the traits
Abe Lincoln - nothing suggests this. just an introvert

Supreme Autist:
Mark Zuckerburg - this guy is like one of those japanese cyborgs, 11/10 king of the autists
No way:
Trump/Putin - charismatic
Bill Gates - No, seen him talk on stage, just a nerd, not aspie
Einstein - no, he was a womanizer
