Didn't laugh. It's not about flexing on those liberals because "liberal tears". Had the reverse happened (for example, conservatives mourning the death of a prominent conservative figure/tragedy) and someone showed up with a "Hillary" hat, you'd all be calling for this person to be beat down.

It's not respectful. The people laughing at this have bought far too much into alt-right propaganda and are effectively disconnected from society.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

Rick and Morty? I love that ****. Watched all of the seasons at least twice.. and I think a new season is coming out soon?

Sorry, but I didn't pick up on the hint but using the long versions of the name lol

You and I would likely get along great IRL.

People get way too in the feelings over a damn hat. The inner antagonist in me wants to buy a MAGA hat just to wear it on a college campus. I would only wear it to intentionally piss people off, because if you get offended by a hat you're a fukkin *******, BUT i would never interrupt anyone mourning the death of ~50 people.

He knew he was going to be shredded for that, but at the same time people are over-reacting on twitter. Big time. What's new though?

These same people on twitter think that the shooter loved Trump. He states clearly in his mani that he likes Trump because he's white, but he hates his policies.

I knew a 17 year old Chinese American girl who got expelled from school for wearing a swastika arm band one day "for fashion".

I'm convinced people who do chit like this get a neurological high from trolling IRL and need a bigger and bigger fix each time.

can confirm it was me at UofT

but nah, there's nothing really wrong IMO with wearing that hat. it isn't a symbol of racism. Trump isn't a racist nor is he anti-muslim.

However, people that wear that hat kind of become associated with people who are there just trying to seek attention, troll, get a rouse, etc. IMO wrong place to try and get that attention and it was in poor taste and kind of dumb knowing over-emotional people would get angry over it.

Whats the problem?

Its just a hat saying make america great again.

Is it wrong to support making america great again? If so please explain, and feels dont count.
My school is very diverse and is supportive of all individuals regardless of their race, belief, sexuality, etc. This vigil was being held for people to mourn over the tragic event. He did not need to show up wearing that hat knowing he’d cause a scene.
Oh this tweet from the article cleared it up. The school supports bigotry. So no white males with MAGA hats.

Even though I know what you guys are saying, it's pathetic it's come to this.

We've reached a point where an unvalidated statement becomes fact - MAGA hats are racist.

Fuk that, with all my brown skinnedness I would have told the bish to give 1 reason the hat is racist.

This. The suggestion that the murder of 49 innocent people in an New Zealand mosque has anything to do with Trump or his "Make America Great Again" slogan is beyond ridiculous. Anyone that thinks it does has been fooled by media lies and is quite possibly retarded.

Come on now let's not be coy about his intentions. It's a kid who looks hardly old enough to vote in his own country wearing the political apparel of a leader fromanothercountry that is clearly shrouded with controversy. There is literally no reason for him to wear that hat other than to troll.

In the shooters manifesto he claimed to be a trump supporter. It doesnt mean that trump condones his actions but it's certainly in bad taste to wear the hat when you have absolutely no reason to do so.

How do you know? Perhaps he was wearing to show that as a Trump supporter, he does not support the actions of the shooter. Critical thinking skills of peace.
