It’s all good, I’m olive skinned. In the summer I have a tan tone and in the winter a normal tone. If I lived in the South I’d imagine I’d be fairly tan most of the year. However I have green eyes and a lot of blonde in my facial hair haha.

What don't you guys understand that not everyone can live in California? High taxes, Very high Real Estate, Very crowded. You can get a Mansion for $250k for a home with a big ass backyard and a pool. Now I probably wouldn't move to Alabama, but there's still a lot of numerous areas. It's not fair to call every state outside of Cali a flyover.

It's just outside of Pigeon Forge, in between Townsend and Pigeon Forge. It's small, with a laid back country attitude, an incredibly beautiful mountain called Cove Mountain, and is about 15 miles from Cades Cove. I absolutely love it there. I was there in December, up in a cabin, and it snowed. My son, father-in-law, and I hiked Rocky Top/Thunderhead. We had to turn around 2/3 of the way up because of a blizzard. That whole area is beautiful, but Wears Valley is incredible.

There aren't basements because the water table is too high. If a home down there has one stay far, far away because it'll cause nothing but trouble for you. Tornadoes happen but they are more frequent a little farther up in the state. Hurricanes are more of a concern in Mobile. Like I said earlier Spring Hill near the University of South Alabama campus is really nice but anywhere in Mobile proper is gonna be close to a ghetto. Look at some homes in Daphne, Spanish Fort and Fairhope. All are beautiful towns right across the bay.

As far as what to do in case of a tornado we always just go into the smallest room in the house with no windows.

All that is required for a CCW is a training course

Must be at least 19 years of age.
Reside in the county where you file the application
Have no convictions of violence
Must be a US citizen or legal alien.
Must not be a drug addict or habitual drunkard.
Must be of sound mind and not have been involuntarily admitted to psychiatric or drug treatment facility.

Huntsville is pretty nice if you like the small city feel. Plenty of good paying tech jobs, low cost of living. It's a good mix of southern charm and modern metro feel without the terrible traffic and high taxes. Plus, if you get bored you can drive 1.5 hours to Nashville for the bigger city experience or leave the city limits and do some outdoors stuff.



It's also rated by Livability.com (for whatever that's worth) as the #1 city in the country to pursue a STEM career

OP I almost completely forgot. If the company you work for is State Farm DO NOT open up an agency on the gulf coast. They denied tons of claims relative to the other insurers after Ivan and Katrina and the people down there have not forgotten about it yet. I'm not even sure if they actually denied more claims than the others but that is the perception of people down there and they are holding a grudge

I had an epiphany yesterday about this very issue.

We all know the recent AL state law over abortion is designed to force SCOTUS to revisit Roe v. Wade. Other southern states are passing similar laws. Hollyweird is screaming and boycotting.

I realized that this also means that libtards from CA will be removing places like AL or GA from their possible "relocation" lists. Libtards love to virtue signal and being able to brag to their friends that they refused to move to a state with "barbaric and misogynistic abortion laws" means much more to them that lower taxes, less crime, and a higher quality of life.

I think the brilliant side effect of state laws that run counter to the cultural marxist agenda (anti-gun, pro-sodomy, pro-abortion, pro-drug, etc.) is that they will also strongly deter libtards from moving there and ruining it.
