in florida, in the summer, with a house that ran 2 a/c units on full blast, my electricity at the most would be in the $400s

Summers (Mid June - Mid September) Average mid 90s but get over 100 on occasion. Winters average around 50s but do get into the 10's sometimes. I guess I don't mind the heat because as long as its under 81 in the house during the summer, as long as I have a fan I'm good. Also since its low humidity here I just have a swamp cooler and its really cheap to run as opposed to central air.
hard to hate on a fellow wings fan but....

Not sure their arrangement, but if you lease solar panels it can be a nightmare...we paid cash and bought them outright so we don't have a monthly payment. Also, we stayed on the grid and with SDG&E, we sell our excess energy we produce during the day back to the grid and buy from the grid at night. They fuk you over with the buy/sell rates, but overall it's still worth it. They charge us $0.44/kWh when we buy from the grid, but when we sell to the grid, they only pay $0.04/kWh. But overall, our AC during the day runs entirely on solar we're producing so the biggest user of our energy is negated.

Thankfully while my windows are all single-pane and there's a lot of windows, they all face directions with basically no direct sunlight. (mannyyy facing north and south, just a couple on east and west sides but they both sides have tree coverage

But this was with only 2 people in the home and the 1 roommate worked a bit just in general, gone pretty often and we were good about turning chit off (namely ac/heater) when we were gone. I'm home all the time

Just opened my account and my average bill is $213 over the last 12 months. 4,100 SF house but we never heat/cool about 1,000 upstairs and we have a basement that is heated and cooled but basically stays 70 degrees year round...so I'd say we are only heating and cooling 2,200 SF constantly. 70 degrees pretty much all the time.

I hope you're trolling. My bill on a 3,000 square foot house is around $250 at the heat of the summer/dead of winter with an electric heat pump system. You must leave every light on, window open, and sit in 59 degree temps through the summer.

If you are going to stay in that house for at least 5 years then invest in a new energy efficient system which will save you money in the long run. Depending on the brand and efficiency, you may get a tax cut and lower your monthly bill.

we spend about 80 in the winter (gas heat doe), and 120-150 in the summer. and that's "black women dying in the hood from overheating" weather too, like 90+ every day.

just fukking lol at you cucks paying 250 plus, especially in newer homes. my house is 70 yrs old, and still heats and cools just fine with my 20 year old furnace.

Have got solar though so that takes a big chunk off it.

I was getting a refund on my power bills a few years ago then they changed the solar rebate.

In Houston it gets fkn Africa hot during the summer months.... Current house is a little over 3k sq ft with 2 units and I will see $250-$300 during the dead heat of the summer but my ballz get hot... so I keep the house comfortable

2400 sq ft house a bit out in the country. The only monthly utility bill is electric and that runs about $125 on average throughout the year. Propane tank is used for heat and cooking and is filled a 2-3 times a year at $600 each
