Could look into the Ranger Raptor edition for 50k. I'm not a huge Ford fan but that truck is decent and those under plates are pretty sweet.

There are no such thing as cheap 4 wheel drive trucks. You can get a good, barebone pickup for a decent price but as soon as you go 4x4 it jumps 15 -20k to the "off road" edition. People who actually need 4 wheel drive have never complained about the price of the truck because they know that's just how it is. Most people don't actually need it but want it and truck makers know this. That just increases the price even more.
hard to hate on a fellow wings fan but....


i need to cut... badly.

Depends a lot on area, too. Apparently in texas or one of the poverty southern states, you can knock $10k off msrp all day long. In the coastal areas, good luck.

Nah with modern tech., increase capability, etc. prices have increased. You can still get a basic model truck brand new for 23-28k no problem. People are just choosing 4x4 trucks that are fully loaded and are as nice as luxury cars and are whining that they are too expensive.


Furthermore with rebates, truck month, year end sales, etc. you can easily get a truck for 12-15k less then MSRP.

The stripper trucks for $25k are all 2wd. Problem is I need 4wd juuuuust enough to warrant having it. Maybe 2wd with chains, but that sounds like a real PITA.

Yeah I know a guy who buys used Subarus and Toyotas from the south and resells them here in Seattle. $3k-$5k additional markup per car. He moves 30-50/mo. Do the math.

Very good chance your neighbor is doing a 72+ month loan. Will be under water the entire time of the loan and when they almost inevitably trade up in a few years the loan will still be worth more than the truck.

I could dig getting a Bronco next year but I'm sure they will be $50k+ so I guess my '97 Ranger will have to make do for awhile longer.
