12% APR hahahahahahahahaha

Dealerships fuk you hard bro

I found the car I wanted, took my wife's car to trade in, test drove said yep, i'll buy on saturday (was thursday). We did credit check etc, was approved and they said it's all yours.

Salesman texted me the next day saying another salesperson didn't know it was sold and a guy offered to pay cash for it. I got all pissed saying "wtf u think we ran credit and had my trade appraised for you retard"... he called me back a few hours later saying it's mine so as long as I finance through them in house. I said ok

Got there saturday to see my credit report read it was 797 and they gave me a 8.99 APR.

The very same day I took it to my credit union and refinanced for 2.49%

OP..... take your ass to a credit union

Maybe not, but not having a sheit box of a vehicle in the shop every month is worth something to me. I am justifying buying a reliable car.

My father is class A mechanic. All my life I bought cars with between 100000 and 200000 km on them . Everything from ford rangers, to ford super duties, saturn vues, ford contour, etc. Buying prices between 2000 and five grand. Head gaskets, front end work, transmission cooling lines, brake lines,....each year, no matter the vehicle, I only stayed ahead because my labour was free. My weekends werent, because helping fix the hunk of junk.

Eventually Id buck them all off for a loss because a problem would arise that cost more than the car was worth.

I have neither the time now, and my father is getting older and doesnt want to do that ****.

Now, 400 ish a month is fine with me. weekends are free again, and i'll sell the car for $8-9000 after five years.

I bet it IS cheaper in the long run, and even if it wasnt my time is worth more than fixing stuff. And I hate working on cars.

as for dealership doing the work...at 130/hr we know where they make their money.

I wouldn't say greater than 2.9 is excessive, but with good credit you can definitely get less than that.

I got an unsecured loan in 12 hours for 13K at 3%, at 25 years old. If it was secured, for 5 years, and I was more like 30? Probably in the 2% area.

Edit: Opie if you like giving rich corporations free money, why don't you divert that to the needy and not make those corrupt fools even richer than they are? Do a good deed you thick brained fewl.

I don't really get what part of the story is so unbelievable. If it's the income you probably don't realize what kind of money there is in the car business.. My boss makes like 35k a month

Again you're making excuses for financing a new car. There are plenty of reliable used cars in the 5-15K range that you can pay with cash. It's people like you that have a 500 dollar per month car payment and complain that they are barely getting ahead later in life. Imagine putting 500 per month in a conservative portfolio even though I would rather go aggressive in my 20s. You will probably be a millionaire before retirement age.

You'll never hear a word from me about not getting ahead. I live off grid, about as debt free as possible. More boats than I need, multiple ATVs and Snowmobiles, Waverunner. All later models, not financed. building a cabin/cottage at the moment, and have a decent woodshop/gym. Multiple traplines...fishin, huntin all the time and managing a seasonal construction company doing custom homes on the water at 33. Winters mostly off from work, ecause of ice, but we just bought a hovercraft, so maybe year round work in the future... Just bought another 3 acres because it made sense as land is running out here and prices are starting to rise. Building in five or so years once its paid off. Maybe sell it and do it again.

I make the best of what I have.

And then my wife says she wants a reliable vehicle for winter, etc... I keep her happy.

I get what your saying about reliable vehicles in that price range, I just found that till now I was spending the same, if not more annually to keep used vehicles on the road. I think you discredit what salt does to everything on a car. I would love to do a cost analysis based on the vehicles I have had vs this one and see, but if it was a huge difference I would have noticed by now. My salary hasn't changed much in three or four years, so now I find it is easier to figure out how much I spend on what. Before it was- surprise, the super duty needs in intake and exhaust manifold. I gave my old 06 or 07 saturn Vue (with 120000 km on it) to my dad last year. He put about 2000 into it since then before the body rotted out enough that the rear end was coming out of it. The part was not replaceable.

If you have no credit score, you would not even have got accepted for finance for the car, so what makes you think you wouldn't get it for a mortgage, if u have no credit history but can prove your income and you can afford it should be no problems for the lenders tor refuse.

I refuse to believe that any car salesman - no matter how long they been in the industry - makes $15,000 in a little over a month. With transitioning to a new dealership, there is some kind of ramp up training period you would go through. In fact, even if you got to your current dealership and immediately got on the sales floor, making even half of that is not believeable.

Your low credit at age 31 does not support someone making that kind of money. You aredelusional if you think you did even remotely well with a APR of 12%.

One thing I will agree with you is that the Fiesta ST is a fun car. But you fraudin about everything in this thread.
