The whole "assault weapon" thing is just wording by the left to ban semi autos. The 94 ban and proposed bans are for semis with certain features like pistol grips, bayonet lugs, detachable magazine capability, etc. Way more people are killed by other objects than guns in this country. Handguns are at the top when it comes to deaths by firearms.

People like and use the AR platform because it is easily configured for multiple purposes. Lots of guys are hunting with them because you can add different stocks, grips, optics, and bi pods very easily.

Bans like these aren't going to stop these shootings. There are millions of AR's out there. The total end game of liberals in this country is to disarm everyone except the police.

Feral hogs. But for real I know some people that were just outside of New Orleans right after Katrina and if they hadn't had guns they wouldn't be with us. A couple of days afterwards people from the city went out to the burbs to loot people's houses. He said he could hear the screams and in his neighborhood they took shifts patrolling. When the looters come they just don't take your chit and let you live. Not as many people died from the flooding as they claim. A lot were killed by other people with guns, knives and their bare hands. If that chit happens where I live, which is very possible, I'm gonna be ready

AR's have 1 shot per trigger pull. They are not fully automatic. They are not even set up well for "mowing down crowds of people".

They are one of the best platforms for Home Defense.

Feral Hogs, Wolves, Coyotes...

The 2nd Amendment was designed to provide a disincentive for government overreach.

Happens to be close to the weapon platform I was trained on while I was active duty... Familiarity.

Fun to shoot.

Riots and looters do happen.

It won't be long until the government has quad rotor drones with motion detectors and explosive charges, robot dogs with heat/night vision and mounted guns etc and a militia with rifles won't be able to do chit.

Disarming the public now is the first step to making it an ez sweep but in 30 years the public won't stand a chance from automated drones controlled by the top 10 families in the world.

Should we ban rental vans?

Alek Minassian, a Toronto incel, killed 10 people with a rental van last summer.

It’s the worst mass murder in Canada in the past 30 years, and that’s with 2 million registered gun owners.

So I say first we ban vans or at least increase regulations around vans: enhanced background checks and van free zones.

Less capacity in their gas tanks, too.

That Shaub clown said the "F" word like 50 times in less than 10 minutes. Look, I'm not bothered by a swear word here and there, but it really detracts from what someone is saying when they feel the need to drop variants of "fuk, fukin', etc." Every other sentence. Settle down.

Wow, so some guy who can trash 99.999% of the population with his bare hands doesn't think anyone needs a gun to defend themselves? Yeah, f you women, old people and anyone who isn't a MMA-elite level fighter.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Listen to either of "his" two podcasts, and I guarantee he mentions sucking dick within the first 5 minutes, 80% chance within the first 2 minutes. And then he brings it up again dozens of times in an hour long podcast.

That's where you're wrong, boyo. The ability to sling lead downrange at high rates of fire is not primarily to kill large numbers of people. The presumption behind that often used, ridiculous (and wrong) assertion is that the operational environment for an "assault rifle" is some crowded store full of non-combatants just standing/walking around. Assault weapons are designed for combat: an environment where people aren't densely standing around looking at their iPhones, but rather exchanging fire from behind cover at often long distances. It takes a lot of bullets to keep somebody behind that cover so you can maneuver into a better position, hence the existence of machine guns, but even in semi-automatic firing mode you can apply the same principle. The estimated number of rounds fired per enemy killed in recent wars ranges from 50,000 to 300,000... so no, they're not designed for killing large numbers of people, they're designed for firing large numbers of bullets in a firefight.

They are not “assault rifles”, but since I know you mean ARs, they are the optimum home defense platform, for one thing.

Agreed 110%. Anyone who honestly believes that the members of the United States military will raise arms in force against their own people has clearly never been close with anyone that has served or is serving. All politics aside a majority of those men and women signed up to protect their countrymen and the people they love. It would be extremely foolish of the government to think they could turn these folks against their own people.

And another thing, why would a person allow themselves to get invested in an idea like this that has literally zero chance of ever becoming a reality in the land of the free? Why put yourself through the mental anguish of supporting an idea so passionately and putting in actual effort and energy into supporting it or trying to recruit other people to support, just to be 100% guaranteed failure. Seems like such a waste of time, effort, and emotion.

Remember when slavery, women's voting, gay/interracial marriages, child labor were all legal in America?
You could say back in the day, " why would these people who fight for these rights above allow themselves to get invested in an idea like this that has literally zero chance of ever becoming a reality in the land of the free"?

Same thing goes for guns; your gonna be amazed by the progress of gun control in the next 5-50 years, and we will all laugh together at the horrendous, lax laws we have currently.

Again, if we can't ban Semi Autos, we need to find a way to limit magazines (no more than 10 rounds for starters?) Anything else you gun aficionados think would limit the amount of deaths caused by a gun at a given time? There is no reason why anyonen needs this gun. you are mentally ill if you believe American citizens should be able to own this gun

Why would I put my well being and the lives of my family in the hands of LEO? I'll just never understand this bootlicker way of thinking.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - A wonderful quote by Samuel Adams and applies just as well if you change the word wealth to safety or security
