Honestly the best thing is his personality. He is so easy going chill relaxed, just a totally normal basic jock type personality. I don’t like high strung people or argumentative highly opinionated people or emotional dramatic people or anxious type A people etc and he is the opposite of all that. Just super chill and easy going and always happy.

So to get back to the op topic maybe that is also what guys with an average looking wife like about them. Good compatible personality is priceless in a long term relationship and marriage.

You generally assume that she must have other redeeming qualities that balance things out... but in reality, that's just your head trying to justify the situation that you're seeing.

I have a friend of a friend whose wife is fat, ugly, and absolutely unfukable. I just assumed that she must be a nice, smart, or something because it wouldn't make sense to my mind otherwise... but then she went on to prove me wrong. She doesn't work, doesn't want kids, just sits around at home all day, and at my friend's wedding she proceeded to make a fool of herself by getting absolutely chit faced and practically throwing herself at some guy while her husband and the rest of us all watched.

Looks aren't important in a good marriage, but there's a big difference between not hot and completely hideous. If a normal looking guy marries the latter, chances are that there's something off about him. At the very least, he probably has self-esteem issues.

if you want companionship get a dog or some mates

so it makes sense for a man to date a more attractive female otherwise kind of whats the point?
