She handled this poorly, either from low standards in her training, being too trustworthy of strangers, or having a high opinion of her physical abilities/combat effectiveness, traits which seem to favor women.

Life is random and unfair and sometimes **** happens. What you describe is impossible.

There is always going to be the second guessing in hindsight. What if she pulled her gun and immediately shot? Didn't pull it at all? Went for another weapon?

And none of those traits actually favor women.

Pig cops didn't have to shoot him 30 times wtf. They could have shot him once or twice to injure him then take his gun but lets be real they just wanted to kill a black man. The black man didn't even want to kill the female cop, he was just defending himself.

I think the standards should be the same regardless if you're a man or a woman. If a woman meets those standards let her serve, but don't lower the standards for women. I was pissed when I went to the marine booth at the LA fit expo and was told men have to do 20 pull-ups but women just have to dead hang for 30 seconds. I thought a marine was a marine. I would never sign up to be in the army or law enforcement unless I was sure I could fulfill my duties to the same degree as everyone else, to do otherwise would be irresponsible and dangerous.

It's a grey area. There are plenty of jobs in the military that don't require man levels of physical strength. Not everyone needs to be a meat shield, schlepping 100 lbs of crap through the desert every day.

And there is a benefit to having women in the police force. It's good for image and PR. 99% of police work is interacting with people and most are more comfortable talking with an attractive woman than the biggest a-hole they went to high school with who thinks he's a mustache'd Judge Dredd now. This was a one in a million scenario which she lost and probably failed to follow strict procedure. Guns are force equalizers, so someone who's physically weaker than most perps should never be in a position where her weapon can be wrestled away so easily.

why do the cops in this situation not use their vehicles as weapons? it seems the safest thing to do. Looks like the cops were planning on firing on the dude from the get go to neutralize the threat. So why not ram him instead, much higher chance of the dude surviving, fewer stray bullets and little chance he runs
